The best canned tomatoes that I have ever used. Taste is very close to fresh. Would definitely recommend using them foe all dishes.

I try to be fair when I write reviews. I’m grading the PRODUCT, not the service associated with its transportation here. That said, the majority of the cans in the case were dented, either from mishandling before shipment or in transit. I don’t downscore a product for damage unless I’m certain of the cause. I could not determine the cause for certain in this case.Mutti Polpa (finely chopped tomatoes) are an excellent product. The only seasoning in the can is just a touch of salt. There’s no garlic, basil or anything else to hinder the taste of the product. To my knowledge, there is no comparable American product and I highly recommend this to anyone who is serious about their pasta or pizza sauce.

As a professional chef, I've used Stanislaus 74/40 for many years. #10 cans aren't very user friendly for the home chef, so for the house, I normally buy Cento brand San Marzano 29 oz cans. A friend from Parma Italy suggested I give Mutti tomatoes a try. I bought a case of Polpi 15 oz cans and was blown away! These taste of ripe, summer tomatoes with the perfect balance of acid & sweetness. Use them right out of the can as a pizza sauce, or simmer a bit with EVOO and a touch of garlic for a wonderful Marinara. Do yourself a favor and give these a try. Very versatile...use them where you would use whole, crushed or puree.

I like the smaller cans of tomatoes like these; sometimes recipes use only a cup or two of tomatoes, and cans of tomatoes are most often found in 28oz large sized. The taste is unadulterated and light and fresh. I also buy the Mutti WHOLE tomatoes in this sized can. You can always buy that and chop it up as you please to make what in essence is what this product offers; but for convenience, you have it done for you here. What's more, these are not for just Italian fare, I can use this for Indian-style recipes I make which often have tomato sauce as an ingredient. Mutti brand whole peeled and these chopped tomatoes work bc these tomatoes are just that, just tomatoes, no seasonings added to interfere with a flavor profile you need it to be. You add your own seasonings and herbs, and make it to fit the recipe. It's all good.

These are as close to fresh tomatoes as you can get in a can. The taste is amazing. Obviously they are spendy and ouch, covid times have upped the price. I would not use them for chili or something that smothers the flavor. But for tomato forward dishes or folks that are tomato connoisseurs, they are worth it.

I love Mutti tomatoes. This was my fifth order but I won’t order again. Out of the dozen cans I ordered, 9 were dented some to the point where the tomatoes leaked out. I don’t think it right that they cannot be returned. I’m out over $41 for a total of 3 usable cans out of 12.

A significant number of the cans were severely dented.

I have been buying these ever since I discovered them at World Market many years ago. They are hands down the best canned tomatoes. They taste like fresh and are not sweet like most canned tomatoes. They taste like they came from the garden. You will not be disappointed.
