My dogs love this. Price is not great. it’s expensive but an excellent product. I use a a treat or a small amount as a topper on their food.

Great to put on top of food to get my fussy dog interested in her kibble. Smaller pieces than other brands.

Pro's: any dog who loves fish / salmon will love this. It tends to break up into flakes during production / shipment so it works better as a supplement to sprinkle on kibble, rather than a training treat like biscuits or jerky.Con's: If you are looking for training treats where the salmon is in strips or cubes this may not be the best choice for you. While there are some pieces like this in the bag, often a lot is broken down into flaky dry salmon bits. Therefore a portion of every bag is not the kind of thing you can hand out to your dog while training unless it's in a bowl.

My puppy loves these. They are easy to break up and hide in her snuffle mat and they are stinky enough that she stays interested until she gets every last morsel. I fill one up when I put her in her pen for separation training. She easily goes in on her own - directly to the salmon treats in the snuffle mat and is distracted by it while I close her in and leave the room. It calms her enough that she rarely whines when she’s done eating them and just goes to sleep. The salmon-snuffle mat combo is also perfect for when we sit down for dinner because she’s usually a wild child around that time, but give her a mat filled with salmon and by the time she’s done, she’s calm and reasonable and ready to snuggle.

I like the fact that the freeze dried salmon is just what is says on the package: Ingrients "freeze dried salmon". I use them as a treat, but I call my dog's treats "cookies". He loves them. I also used them when my last cat was alive and she too loved them. Pure Bites is a a decent company, a little pricey, but worth it. They also make freeze dried duck, chicken, lamb if I remember correctly. If you are purchasing for a cat, buy the one for dogs. They are exactly the same except the doggie ones are larger, easy to break apart. One of the best dog and cat treats on the market, especially if you are trying to feed your pet in a healthy way.. ABSOLUTELY no animal by products. And while we're discussing ingredients, wheat is not all that bad for your dog.. Meat by products, on the other hand, just horrible horrible horrible.

I have purchased this item previously, and that bag had much better product in it. This recent bag was full of tough skin and tough leathery pieces that was inedible and inappropriate for my small dog - which made buying it more expensive, as there was much less edible product. I contacted Pure Bites to notify them of my disappointment in their recent product, and after much relaying of product information, all communication ceased. I will either never buy this product again, or give it one more chance (as my dog loves the freeze dried salmon treat).

As soon as I took some out to look at it I can see it’s not top notch quality, but it’s alright. My dog wasn’t as enthused about this stuff as he was by whatever kind his vet sent him home with.
