Difficulties of choosing a pulse oximeter
I looked at a lot of these carefully before choosing one. Accurately measuring oxygen saturation in a few seconds by sending pulses of light through the skin is actually difficult. Some do it well, others don't. On top of that, buying stuff from China (as all these are) is always risky and the Chinese usually fake hundreds of positive reviews.I chose this one because it has the full range of functions including PI (perfusion Index) which isn't particularly important of itself but suggest it uses more advanced algorithms. More importantly it measures with PI as low as 0.1% (or so it claims) and if true this definitely indicates a good algorithm as a low PI normally means you can't get a proper reading. Finally it gives a graphical read out which they correctly refer to as a plethysmograph, and I take it as a good sign that they actually know this word and know how to spell it, unlike the other listings (though their English is dreadful.)Having tried the device, it seems to work, though the build is horribly cheap and flimsy for something of this price.

very easy to read oximeter
Verified PurchaseHaving had a Heart attack about 8 years ago which then involved having stents inserted, I have obviously paid more attention to the workings of my circulation system. This month I decided to buy an Oximeter in order to keep a better check on this!I researched a few reviews of Oximeters at differeing prices but to me it was importeant to find one that involved more than just the cost and as a 79 year old, I wanted to attempt to make sure of my chances of living a bit longer! The reasearch led me to buy this Medlinket Temp Pulse Oximeter, which I found to be very easy to read the screen and understand its workings, apart from the very small writing on the instruction leaflet.I contacted the sellers by email as was written on the instruction leaflet and I was helped imedialely by Wendy, who made sure I received a PDF copy of the instructions in order to be able to read them easier!I considered Wendy's customer service was well above average, showing that there was care involved and I would certainly recommend both the product and customer care/help to be excellent.Regards to all, Terry

If you need a decent spo2 get this, by far the best one I've used as a healthcare professional...
I bought this for work to monitor my O2 Sats and to also use for work... I have used many sats probes over the yrs, I was intrigued to buy this for the temperature readings as well, I wish that there was some way of buying more of the temperature connectors or a more built in version of this...I have found this reader to be the best I have used so far, in comparison to others I've used over the years in multiple clinical environments I can trust the readings provided by this device... When a patient is cold and otherwise closed down,I have managed to still get a reading and compared it at the same time with others at the same time... Result is my colleagues bought the same device...For personal use, I used when I underwent chemotherapy and when I got covid between the first and second wave and woke after being on a ventilator, I used this at home before my emergency admission and when I returned home, I developed significant life changing side effects from long covid, my heart rate can abruptly be irregular, my BP goes extremely low or high, I have fluctuations in my oxygen never smoked a day in my life and my glucose levels are affected... I also have trouble maintaining my body temperature... But I am alive and have returned to work with a lot of supported assistance so I can still do the job I love...I would high recomend this device, yes there are cheaper ones on the market but from someone whose worked in respiratory ITU, A&E, community, hospice for over 25 yrs, this is exactly what I'd recomend... I was pleasantly taken back by the fact I got readings on this when other devices I had been using could not make a recording and when they did the results were completely off...

Easy to use but failed after a short while - returned
This wasn’t the cheapest and received fairly positive reviews. It worked initially quite well however is it accurate? Without a second one, I don’t know. It’s fairly easy to use, put your finger in between the two parts (there’s an obvious finger-shaped dent), press the on button (the heart-shaped button) and the reading should begin. It provides oxygen and pulse readings. It also comes with a wire sensor to take temperatures however I didn’t use this. I liked the fact that a second button allows you to change the position of the reading depending on which hand you place it on.You have to insert two AAA size batteries (which is easy to do) and you should be good to go...if it works. After only a number of weeks, the device stopped taking any reading, would appear to try, only to shut down with a pitiful beep. Tried cleaning it as directed in the info sheet and replaced the batteries to no avail.Hey ho! Returned to Amazon (which, by the way is so easy now to do - I used the print label, return using Amazon locker option).Amazon did refund very very quickly, to their credit.Shame that the device stopped working however, I see from other reviews that I am not alone.

Fast, accurate, reliable.
Very happy with this Oximeter. Accurate and consistent. Had bought one previously from a different company which was very unreliable and constantly fluctuating (though well reviewed on here), so did my research this time. This is made by a trans-national company that provides medical equipment to hospitals and comes with a booklet detailing the research behind its algorithm and the clinical trials it has undergone. I haven't sat down to read it, but it's reassuring to know that it has been fully tested. Also comes with an instructional video for how to use it. Gives an accurate reading within around 10 seconds. Thermometer is accurate too- though a little bit fiddly. Was nearly put off by a couple of bad reviews (glad I wasn't)- turns out some people don't know how to install batteries...
