Keep the deer the heck out
My neighbor feeds deer in the winter and they use my property as the pathway to dinner. Deer fence is just a minor inconvenience as they barrel through time after time. This stops them in their tracks. BTW the length is not specified but is clearly over 500'

Gauch Barb Wire review
I have used it as a deer deterrent for a fenced area to grow some vegetables. The wire was easy to install and not hard to manipulate. I haven't seen yet any signs of decay or rust. The product arrived on time and was very well packaged.

Stupid and thoughtless packaging
The barbed wire gets 5 stars...the seller gets zero stars for packaging. That averages out to 2.5 stars...rounded up to 3. The lighter gauge of this barbed wire makes the roll much easier to pack around than the 70-pound heavier gauge wire from the local hardware store. I fenced my property over 20 years ago with 15.5 gauge wire and it has held up wonderfully. It keeps the cows out when they make their annual pilgrimage through the area on their way to and from their summer grazing areas up on the mountain.However, I almost returned this order as soon as I opened the box. It was absolutely the most stupid and thoughtless packaging job I've ever seen. Why would anyone package barbed wire in the cheapest and flimsiest kind of foam peanuts? I spent over an hour trying to remove the peanuts from every barb and crevice on the roll...and will probably spend the next year picking up peanut scraps from around my property. There is still a substantial amount of the material on the roll which will come off as the wire is unrolled...and scatter in the winds. A simple plastic bag or wrap around the roll would have alleviated the problem...or a different kind of packaging material, perhaps water soluble packaging peanuts. DO NOT buy this product from Vanguard Wholesale. They don't have a clue about how to package it.Date: August 12, 2011
