Only one day with it so far, but this feels life-changing.
I've had two bulging discs (probably more than at this point) in my thoracic spine for about a decade. It's caused a wide variety of symptoms affecting my entire upper body: things ranging from pain & stiffness along my spine itself, to constant muscle spasms along my back, to extreme muscle tightness & trigger points that pull my shoulders, neck, and hip out of alignment, and more.I've tried a bunch of decompression options, including inversion tables and a device that has you bend over while holding handles. Those options weren't helpful for thoracic/cervical, and I think might have even caused more compression on those vertebra.Long story short: The 4100-D arrived today. No assembly required, and after about 20 minutes to get comfortable with how to use it, I spent the next 30-something minutes getting the best thoracic decompression I've ever had. It basically works by expanding multiple air pouches in such a way that it pushes two isolated sections of vertebra apart. It's not a back-bend; it's actually gently decompressing your spine. I had to watch some videos on their site and read the inserts carefully, but it's important to be aware of what it's doing so that you don't work against it.Anyway, after one session this afternoon, my spine itself has been feeling amazing for the past 5 hours and counting. It's flexible, loose, and the pinched/compressed pain that I usually have around that vertebra is temporarily gone. Also, aside from that specific issue, I'm noticing much better posture, and I'm able to sit comfortably in a chair that usually causes me extreme discomfort across my entire back.I'm expecting that I should see some improvements in some of the chronic muscular side-effects of my bulging disc if I use this consistently, but even for the instant decompression relief, this is 100% worth every penny.--Some additional info for people wondering what this model does:-This "full body" model has two components connected with a durable detachable strap: one component is intended for the neck, and another is intended for the lower/middle/upper back.-There are instructions for using the components together, but you can also go to the website and find additional instructions for using them separately, to target different areas. (I ended up using the back component on its own to get a good thoracic decompression.)-Highly recommended. Single most effective tool I've purchased to deal with my bulging disc issues.

It works once you find the correct placement for you and the right amount of pressure
I had spinal decompression therapy not quite 2 years ago for compressed discs in neck and lower back pinching nerves. The mechanical unit the chiropractors office used worked well, the therapy helped but as it is a newer treatment was not covered by my insurance. Some neck stiffness, vertigo and pain were returning.I'm glad I decided to try it. It does work! It is a bit awkward at first to find the right placement under the hips, not so much the neck, and the right amount of pump pressure. My massage therapist is the one who told me about the spinal traction as she had it for back and hip pain and avoided surgery. But she does need some 'tuneups' at times also. Today she was in significant pain, enough that walking around the block would have been more than she was willing to do. Was going to take tylenol but waited until we finished testing this. She only used the lower back portion of the dual unit. Took a few minutes for her to find the position that helped. At first it was increasing pain but she squirmed around a bit and started to use the upper and lower pumps individually and suddenly found the right combo. She delightedly yelled wowser! that just fixed the pain! The unit has instructions on doing some pelvic lifts and tucks with hips, varying the pump pressure, sometimes just resting and stretching on it. This is much like the pro treatment where the mechanised traction would stretch to a level, stop, release some, go a bit further and repeat in various cycles to help pull the muscles and connective tissue, stretch gently and release in cycles to prevent over stretching or a reflexive muscle spasm. The pro treatments are 20 minutes which allows the discs to start hydrating. But the early treatments for me left me quite sore and my neck stretched enough to feel like a bobble head doll at times. This unit vs pro treatment. A pro treatment of course will have monitoring for progress and safety. I would never discourage anyone from getting professional treatment. I think this unit would be a good adjunct. Starting perhaps at home before the pro treatment with very short sessions to avoid some of the muscle soreness and build up towards the 20 minute mark. Being able to spot treat as my friend did as needed--she is planning on buying the lower back unit after trying mine only once. For maintaining the pro treatment afterwards, I think this will be very valuable if the unit does hold up.I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 as I think it is overpriced for what it's made of. If it holds up a year from now, I'll change that to 5 stars. I don't mind a company being able to recoup the cost of research and development on something effective. But for something without any electronic parts, it is priced higher than I would expect for the materials its made of. Again if it holds up with use I'll change that rating. The main thing is it is working and if continued use keeps me from another round of professional treatment, it will be well worth the price. For safety, I don't recommend trying this without consulting a physical therapist or chiropractor first. But for 2 people who have had the therapy, we are both finding it is working. We know what the right 'feel' is and how we should feel after treatment.Start slowly, try different placements under your hips in particular, different amounts of pressure with each of the 2 pumps and be sure to do the cycles of inflating, hip rocking, resting, releasing, hip rocking, then repeat. The expansion and release helps rehydrate the discs and is gentler with stretching the muscles and connective tissue. A bit of soreness when starting such is common. This is where doing short treatments and working up to 20 minutes at home could be an advantage. Listen to your body, try variations on position and pressure and when you find the right combo, it WORKS!

Better than an inversion table in certain situations
I haven't been to an orthopedist yet, but the best way I can describe my back issues is either a herniated or bulging disc. As directed by my chiropractor I ordered this product and it has helped immensely with the back pain and even the numbness and tingling running down the back of my legs. I have an inversion table also which I use and it does seem to separate the discs in question but the relief doesn't last at all with using the inversion table where it actually does better with the posture pump. I didn't need the part for the cervical spine per se but I figured I would get it just in case I might need it somewhere down the road. I do use it though and it does seem to make my neck area feel quite good. I do feel like the model 2500 Penta Vec would be helpful also with my situation as it focuses on the lower back sacrum area but it's a little pricey so I'll have to wait a little while to get that one

Multiple noxious VOC odors AFTER offgassing outside for 2 days.
If you are chemically sensitive stop and look elsewhere. There are actually different offensive odors coming from different components! Recommended by a (new to me) chiropractor who knew I suffer from MCS. Attempted to use despite chemical smell (definitely triggered headache). Found lumbar section too painful to rest upon fully deflated due to low back spasm pain. Only one sheet with the cervical unit instructions included (it is labeled for all units) with absolutely no reference to low back unit. Watched youtube to see positioning for lower back unit. Not impressed with clunky design or materials. Returning for refund.

Product fine but almost 2 weeks to get here.
I am fed up with Prime saying a product can arrive in 2 days then it taking 2 weeks, like this item.I like posture pump devices. I have the neck posture pump but want to try this one too. My chiro urged me to get them. I have occipital neuralgia. Hoping this helps.
