adventing? adulting!
One of the more annoying parts about adulting are all the things you need to keep/store, which you use rarely or only seasonally, which are fist-sized or smaller and thus prone to settling to the bottom of an over-stuffed junk drawer. A camera battery or two, picture frame wire, a spool of cotton twine, a few allen wrenches -- you get the picture. This 24-pocket hanger is the perfect answer.I gave it a good wash first (warm/cold, medium-low heat). I didn't want to shrink it, just wash the sizing out. I've found fabric will take fabric marker ink oddly sometimes, thanks to the factory-applied starch. Then I inventoried the things I can never find but do sometimes use, and labeled each pocket with a fabric marker accordingly. It will eventually need washing, so pre-washing now also means there won't be surprises (ie shrinkage) the next time it's washed.I know it'd be less effort if I got a pocket-hanger with clear plastic (like the ones for jewelry). Don't need to create labels if you can see the thing, after all. The truth is that style creates a lot of visual noise. I have enough noise in my life. I'm trying to cut back.Result: an unobtrusive little storage space tucked behind the kitchen door. With 24 pockets, I still have about 8 or 9 waiting for their label and contents. Don't worry. As soon as I find those things, they'll have a home. I just need to figure out where they ended up in the junk drawer.Meanwhile...Could you use this for advent? Absolutely. Use fabric markers or paint and decorate it how you want. (Personally I much prefer it come plain than for me to have to suffer someone else's idea of a design.) For that matter, it could be an every-other-saturday surprise, and you're only two saturdays short of an entire year. Decorate accordingly! One last note: it really IS canvas, not some polyester blend trying to pass itself off as natural fibers. It should tell you how rare that's becoming that I've started seeing that as worthy of praise (and an extra star) in its own right!———————————————————————————————stars are based on: does it do (and is it) what the listing says/promises?5★ = exceeds | 4★ = yes | 3★ = mostly | 2★ = barely | 1★ = FAIL

Just what I wanted!
This Fabric Christmas Advent Calendar is exactly what I was looking for this year. I didn't want a calendar with any writing or design on it. I wanted to be able to design my own calendar from scratch. However, I didn't want to go through the trouble of dragging out the sewing machine and piecing mine together. I wanted to focus on the fun part - the decorating and the filling! This item is perfect for others like me who want to decorate their own advent calendar. It saves the hard work of construction so you can enjoy the fun part.

Not and Advent Calender
Its weird to me that they are marketing this as an advent as it's literally just a muslin jewelry or shoe rack. You have to sort of put it together with two wood sticks and string. I glued the two sticks together in the middle and the balls that are suppose to fit on the ends did not no matter how much I forced them so I ended up just gluing them on as well. The stick on the bottom is just one stick. You slide the sticks into the pockets and tie the string on to hang it. Its well made but without any numbers or anything on it, don't get it as an advent. If you want something to put your nick nacks in that hangs then this is a better alternative to the plastic ones other than you can't see whats in the pockets. I'm really not sure what this is actually suppose to be.

Feels quality, but dirty and off center
Initially I was very excited for this product. It has large enough pockets that I will be able to easily fit two little gifts in each one. The large size helps it look high quality. Fabric is heavy duty. However, two of my decals are very off center. It also arrived with a dirty brown liquid on one corner :( If I had ordered it earlier, I would exchange it, but since I received it late, I don't have time to return and exchange it.

Lovely quality and size
This is really lovely. The designs are all very nice. The pockets are big. It was pretty easy to assemble and hang (I used a removable adhesive hook). This looks and feels like it will be durable for years to come. It seemed a little pricey to me, but I think it's worth it for how nice and classy it is.
