These work fantastically for fire starters!
These are just ever so slightly too big to fit in an Altoids tin, but with very slight modification they can easily be made to work. They do come with plastic sleeves that add little to no bulk. When I first pulled one out I'll be honest, I had my doubts. However, when I actually went out and tried it out, they work wonderfully. In fact, these work better than my good glass one that I keep in my larger fire starting kit does! Even as the sun was going down I was able to get enough light focused to burn. We bought these for my son to make fire starting kits with Altoid tins and various other components to trade with at Trappers. A great purchase!

Great way as reading and fire starter
It's handy to have pocket reader and fire starter on camping. For starter on paper..you have hold steady on a narrow beam by sunlight. Be patient, it work

Compact, Quick Ship
These work well for the project I used them for. (Made pockets in a catalog for my customers to hold the magnifying card; catalog has small print that was difficult for folks to read.) Lots of options for ordering these, this offer seemed to be the best deal. Received quickly after I ordered. I would order from this seller again.

Does the job. Lives in my wallet.
I keep it in my wallet. It does the trick. I don't need twenty of them. So I give them to my friends.

Just what I needed at a great price
I ordered 3 packs of these to hand out to Cub Scouts ages 5-10 as a way to learn more about nature (plants, bugs etc). This was part of a District-wide training event for the kids. They were a big hit, with the Scouts and parents alike. At the price point, what a great value to get kids excited about science at an early age. Some kids who skipped my training station heard about how cool these mini-magnifiers were and sought me out to get one.Word of advice: if you do give these to kids, be aware that some of them will know that you can light leaves on fire using sunlight and a magnifier. Keep an eye out for the known issue, and everyone will stay safe and have fun seeing the world differently with these little beauties.

Better than glasses
Gave them to my survival students as fire starters for which they worked great. But even better, I carry one in my wallet so I can read the fine print. I’ll order more to give away to people squinting at the ingredients, or whatever.
