Bambaw Silver Bamboo Double Edge Razor | Mens & Womens Reusable Shaving Razor

I've been using this for years now, never going back to Gillette razors.

I couldn't be happier since I threw out all my expensive multi blade razors and started shaving with this razor, a brush and shave soap and hot towel. No more horrendous razor burn or ingrown hairs.

Overall, it's very nice, the replacement blades are cheap, and it's plastic-free.Initially, I had trouble getting this to work, as I had dropped the part that goes underneath the blade and installed it upside down. So if you aren't getting a close shave, that may be why.Some advise to be careful not to cut yourself because of its extra weight, but I seem to cut myself more with the disposable razors. Maybe because this is only one blade, I dunno.I got the thick handle version, and it's heavy, so if I get one for my travel bag, I might get the thinner handle version.The blades are not that big of a deal to handle. Just be aware of what you are doing.Someone told me the razor was dangerous, but the top and bottom of the razor keep the blade from digging into your skin.No drawbacks, and no regrets.

I like the way this razor looks and feels, It fits quite well in my hand and is easy to maneuver when shaving my face. Its very easy to screw off the top and replace the blades. I like the blades it comes with, They are very sharp and durable. I was able to use them every 2-3 days for more than a month before feeling like i need to change it.I've never nicked or cut myself with this razor even when shaving like an idiot. I wouldnt say its the best razor ever made but i would highly recommend it.

So I am a big fraidy cat of ouchy things and I was intimidated by the idea of using an "old-fashioned" safety razor, but the planet/oceans being in the state they are I am just experiencing plastic guilt every where I go and decided to make some changes or at least try them out. As a woman I go through a lot of razors keeping the trees on my legs at bay. I am so thankful for all the reviews people leave. This led me to have a much better experience. I actually love the look of this safety razor and changing the blades was far simpler than I would have imagined. It did come with a single blade carefully wrapped in the box, but based on some recommendations I decided to buy some other razors by Merkur to fit this. I definitely think that it led to a much better experience for my trial runs of shaving. "knock on wood" I have yet to slice or nick myself at all. As a lazy shaver who has always just used disposable razors in water, it did take a few habit changes. Since there is no lubricant paper or anything you have to use some sort of lubricant to shave whether it is a good layer of soap, lotion or shaving cream. You also have to make smaller strokes with the blade since there isn't a row to catch what might have been missed the first go around. You also don't need to press in at all the weight of this thing tends to be heavy enough to do the work itself. The bonus to the single blade seems to me that it feels like a closer shave and the razor never gets gummed up which is awesome when it's winter and you haven't shaved in a week. I do feel like it takes me longer than it used to, but in fairness there is a learning curve getting a bit used to a different angle and I think I am just a bit more cautious with it. Another bonus is you'll probably never need another handle in your life and the replacement blades are far far cheaper than disposable. So you get to help out the planet, reduce your plastic consumption, get a good shave and spend less money. It's kinda an all around win win.

I am so impressed with this razor. I grew up with double blade safety razors and they became difficult to find so I went to disposable razors. I decided to go back to safety razors and I had forgotten how nice they are. This razor especially. I have extremely fine hair and dry shave as a result, so a close shave on first pass is almost impossible. I was able to get a close shave by letting the razor glide on the skin and nearly in one pass. This razor did it without irritating my skin. Disposable blades always made my skin red. This razor is incredible! Just get one if you don’t like disposable razors you won’t regret it. Please be careful if you have never used a double blade razor!

I have been using this razor for several months (although I use ASTRA brand blades in it) and I am very satisfied with it. The blade angle is perfect— I rarely knick myself, even when shaving my ankles and knees. I love the aesthetic of the bamboo (even though I was scared that it would look too “guy-ish” but it doesn’t!) and the grip that it provides is perfect. There is no sign of rusting or wear on the metal part yet, which is a good sign.I would definitely purchase this razor again!

I am NEVER going back to gillette or any other multiple blade razor, this does everything I need it. The shave is very close and my face is smooth! If you buy this PLEASE use hot water to shave and go slow till you get the hang of it.
