Do not spray directly on birds!
I have worked with bird rehabers and learned a lot. This is a trusted product that bird owners and rehabers use but this is the way I recommend to use it. First remember that birds have very sensitive lungs so do not let them breathe it too much and also remember that this is a chemical so you may want to wear gloves although that is not required. Important...first I would make sure the bird is completely dry. Do Not spray it directly onto birds or oversaturate your birds! I learned that you spray it onto a cotton ball or pad and dab it onto your bird when it has a problem with mites. You can find out if they have mites by putting paper towel or computer paper into the cage and seeing if you see red spots which are the blood spots that occur when birds are being bitten by the mites. Additionally you also can inspect the wings as you may see red or black dots or areas where you can see parts of the wing are missing. Google it you can find out more information. Do this treatment in a ventilated area that will not get contaminated as the bugs may come out of the inner parts of the bird and get onto other things. Do not oversaturate your bird like it gets when you give it a bath. If your birds do get mites make sure you wash the cages completely and any items in the cage. Then I would lightly spray the empty cage itself without the birds in it to be sure there are no other mites hidden and WIPE it after. You do not want to leave it wet. Also clean and spray areas around the area outside where the cage sits because the mites could have traveled off the birds onto other things. So I use this product not only for the birds but for me items in and around the cage... again make sure the birds are Not in it when you spray the cage and wipe after. Also check for sensitivity so you do not damage your furniture if you spray it as you would do with any product. This is not a substitute for medical treatment as there could be other kinds of microscopic mites that this product may or may not treat. Also I would do treatment twice...again in about 2 weeks to make sure any eggs that may have hatched are eliminated. Good luck as it can be difficult getting rid of mites but this seems to do the job for many birds. 🦜

Does what it's supposed to do.
I purchased this for a little Wild Robin I rescued that was covered in MILLIONS of ants that a cat must have taken from it's nest setting in the middle of the gravel in front of my house where there were no trees. I thought it was a piece of fruit/apple covered in ants but my little Pomeranian kept barking at it so I moved it with my foot and saw little feet and everything else was covered in literally MILLIONS of ants even it's little eyes. I noticed after about 2 months it appeared to have a type of fungus or something around it's poor little eyes so I put this on a QTip and carefully applied around the orbital outside his little eyes's. It cleared it up within 2 days and he/she was doing great other than I realized the poor little thing had some much neurological damage from most likely all the ant bites that it did not have balance to stand without weaving and often falling over. He/She seemed happy though but unfortunately after 4 months of nursing this little fella back to health just up and died suddenly. I feel so bad but I did everything I could even keeping Robby inside at night with my Sun Conures and then during the day I would take Robby outside in another HUGE Cage I have to let him be with the wild birds and others of his/her kind. I guess it just wasn't meant to be but I fell in love with this little fella and it broke my heart when he/she suddenty passed away!!

This stuff works!
I bought this product because I had a nest of wild house finches on my front door wreath and the poor little guys got bird mites mere days before they fledged. The mites multiplied almost impossibly fast and home remedies and products the local wildlife center told me to use were just not killing them fast or effectively enough. I was absolutely terrified for the little birds and was beside myself worrying about the mites potentially infesting my apartment, so I was at my wit’s end knowing this was going on literally on my doorstep. So I did some research, and overnight ordered this spray based on the positive reviews, and it worked wonders! I sprayed it as directed while wearing protective gloves, as the sprayer top did leak a little. It killed almost all of the mites on my wreath, door, the nest, birds, etc. on contact and continued to kill them as they crawled into areas sprayed before it dried. I’ve used it in my doorway and inside my front door gaps as well to kill any residual mites I missed after throwing out the abandoned nest and the wreath in a sealed bag, and this has had very positive results. For the fledglings, I did not spray directly on them due to their delicate respiratory systems and instead sprayed some on paper towels and gently applied it to them, avoiding their eyes and beak. I definitely wouldn’t recommend applying it to a bird without feathers, as it did seem to have a strong odor to it and I’m sure isn’t gentle on exposed skin. I am so thankful this product helped the babies fledge healthily and on time, and kept my home and myself safe from those awful mites!
