Great quick read
I really enjoyed this book. It started fast paced and just kept going. Every page has new secrets and mysteries to unravel to keep you guessing until the end. The end was mind blowing as well! Great read!

Another good YA thriller/mystery from Karen M. McManus
When I started this book, I was in a bit of a mood. That mood made it harder for me to get into it than normal. I'm 100% certain it was my mood because once I could relax into the story, I was completely wrapped up in it. The plot moved quickly, and I was genuinely surprised by many of the revelations. I don't know if I was paying enough attention to the clues or what, but I didn't guess the murderer ahead of time. That rarely happens, so I loved it. The ending was also I didn't see coming until I was right upon it. This was another good YA thriller from McManus. I do feel the need to comment on the whole "Ferris Beuller's Day Off" comparison, though. I guess I can see that in some ways with the kids skipping school, but it felt weird to apply it to this murder mystery.

Doesnt Disappoint!
This author has yet to disappoint me! She keeps you on the edge of your seat in every book. I read "You'll Be the Death of Me" in one day. I couldn't put it down. If you're a fan of Karen's books, this is a must read!

A bit disappointing
Plot: Overall a good plot, but Charlie should have been introduced MUCH sooner and he should have stuck with the trio for the rest of the novel. He, unpredictably, made this friendship group actually work. The way the cops found Cal and Ivy was so random and therefore anticlimactic. Honestly the conclusion of the novel was a waste.Characters: Unfortunately it was the novel’s chemistry between the main trio that were lacking in this plot. It was always Ivy and Cal or Ivy and Mateo, the three of them never had real chemistry other than the scene where they’re carrying a literal unconscious Ivy from the crime scene. Charlie ended up pulling this group together and he should've been included with them much earlier. Lara sucked, she should’ve gone to jail too. The whole feud between Daniel and Ivy was pointless, it would have been more interesting if he had been involved with the drugs or something.Writing: It was brilliant to include a revolving POV between the friendship trio as they all had their own suspects, ideas, and ulterior motives of finding out what happened the morning that they decided to ditch school.

Another Karen McManus success
YA book purchased for my granddaughter. I always read books before I give them to teens because not all are sport. Karen McManus is an exception. I both read and enjoy the way she deals with teen angst. My granddaughter really enjoys them.

Cliffhanget
This book is amazing but the cliffhangers are crazy. Ever book I read with her leaves you on a cliffhanger and I love it.

I like the mystery about this book. The suspense at the end of the chapters led me to wanting to just keep reading. I would recommend this book to people around the age of fourteen and up. Overall it was a fantastic book and I will definitely be reading more by this author!

She is wonder.
This is wow. This is the latest book by Karen Mc. Manus. And people who like crime and romance together will just kill for it. It is mesmerising, enriching and you can't leave the book until the very last page. Just go for it.

Brilliant
Ivy, Mateo and Cal are all students at Carlton High. They were once close friends after skipping school together which they dubbed ‘the Greatest Day Ever’. They then drifted apart and became strangers. When they bump into each other they decide to skip school again. However, if they think they will be able to recreate another ‘Greatest Day Ever’ they are wrong when they stumble across a body and a murder scene. This is one day that the trio will never forget. Will they discover the motive behind the murder? When personal secrets are revealed how will this affect the group dynamic?I am a big fan of Karen M. McManus and I have been ever since I read One of us is Lying so I was eagerly awaiting publication of this book. The author truly is the Queen of teen crime. This book was just brilliant and definitely kept me guessing throughout. I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading and the twist at the end I didn’t see coming. As with all of the author’s other books, this story was well structured and engrossing. The book was fast paced especially when the trio find themselves on the run and trying to solve a murder at the same time. There were many layers to the story. It starts with a group of teenagers skipping school, discovering a dead body and then a wider conspiracy unfolds which added more characters and depth to the story. The characters felt believable, real and were all from different backgrounds. They were a real mix. Ivy comes from a privileged background and from a household of over achievers. Mateo studies as well as working multiple jobs to support his cousin Autumn and his mother who suffers from osteoarthritis. As for Cal he creates web comics including one based on the ‘Greatest Day’ and appeared the most insecure in the group. The chapters switched between Ivy, Mateo and Cal and gave the reader an insight into their background and also the secrets they kept and why. As for Crave Doughnuts it sounded absolutely fascinating. There is a passage in the book just before the end that mentioned the calm before the storm and when I got to the last chapter I realised what that meant. This book had a jaw dropping ending that was unexpected.Highly recommended to fans of the author both new and old.

As always a great easy read
Enjoyed the characters as always, so fleshed out and interesting, however, I felt there was less to the story this time in terms of intrigue. Would have loved to have seen more hints along the way. Fun read and enjoyable, looking forward to the next
