A great trimmer!
Powerful electric trimmer--if you have a long enough cord for your yard. The wheel on it, makes for easy edging. Appears very well made, and really easy to use. Adjustable for all sizes. The string-spool is very easy to remove & install. Highly recommended.

FIRST DAY - Super impressed, worked better than expensive name brand as much 5/5
For the price, I was not expecting much. I have a small yard and could not justify the price or storage space for a gas-powered or larger unit. So, I took a gamble on Black & Decker. There were a few negative reviews of this product, but reading them ( as I always do ), it seems like most of the 1s were shipping problems, broken on delivery, or user error.A weed-eater is a pretty simple mechanism, so I took a chance and it seems to have paid off. This took "literally" 3-4 minutes to unbox and set up. I did not even have to look at the manual, though I did glance at it before I used it to see if there was anything important I missed. I missed nothing.I circled the yard clearing up weeds and along the house and brick edging in 10-15 minutes. Got some nice exercise and sun and the unit gets compressed for storage and is easily put away.I recommend this for light yard duty, and perhaps even a larger yard if you are on a budget and probably will not abuse the tool. Just be patient and let the string do the cutting.Oh, and did I mention this thing is super-light? I was initially skeptical it could do the job when I unboxed it, but its lightweight is a plus.As always, if I have a problem with this, it breaks or turns out to be too expensive to operate ( some reviewers have claimed the ate up a whole spool of filament in their first use - mine did not ) I will return and update my review.Very ... no, exceedingly happy not to have spent a ton of money on something that is not that important to me, but needs to get done, and to have gotten a superior tool for my time and money. I'd call it my Best Buy of the year so far. Rating 5/5 - Highly recommended.

Sturdier than I expected for the twist and telescoping wand. Decent power too.
I had an electric B&D weed eater back in the 90s when my house had only a small need for edging as most was taken care of with the mower and I remember it worked pretty well if a bit underpowered. Since that house I've insisted on only gas powered yard tools as electric is just too inconvenient for anything not right next to the house's power outlets.I recently moved into a place that includes landscaping services but I have a small area out back that landscaping doesn't care for so I needed something small for light jobs again and picked this up with memories of my old cheap one from 20yrs ago that should do just fine. This thing has more power than I ever remember my old electric B&D weed eater having and is kind of overkill for the little 50sqft area I need it for. I expected the telescoping and twisting handle to be janky and wobbly but nothing could be further from the truth. It's easy to handle and easy to adjust. It's light, cheap, and powerful. Way better than I needed or expected. You're not going to start a landscaping business with it or tackle a forest of a back yard of overgrowth, but I could actually see myself using it for a decent sized yard if I needed to. And if I'm only going to use it 2-3 times a year I can't complain about the price either.

No problems all the way to the end of the spool
I had an old Greenworks string trimmer that I found in the basement after I moved into my new home. Maybe it was just old, but the auto-feed didn't work well, the line was always running out, and I spent more time rewinding the spool than cutting down weeds. I had almost lost my faith in string trimmers entirely. You can spend $300 on one, but how much better are they? I didn't know. This Black & Decker was only $50, and although it's corded, my roommate convinced me it was worth not having to do the dance of recharging batteries, plus having full 110v power. Some (easy) assembly required out of the box, and this thing was basically plug & play. I did read through the owner's manual first, which gave amateur me some confidence through a few helpful tips. I use it not only for cutting down weeds, but also for cleaning out weeds from the cracks in my sidewalk, and the edger wheel is very helpful for that. More importantly, the line had no problems all the way to the end of the spool. Faith restored, there are good string trimmers in the world. That being said, be aware that the line it comes with isn't very long. My lawn is medium-size, and it ran out about halfway through. The Black & Decker replacement spools are $10 / 30 ft (much longer), but it goes through line, so this could really add up. Replacing the spool was easy, and I was able to finish my lawn with plenty line to spare. A quick search on Amazon reveals off brand spools at $15 / 12-pack. I haven't tested them yet, but the price difference is so great that I'm going to give them a chance.

Great light weight trimmer
For a light weight trimmer it does a great job . And does a good job of edging too. If you are buying this buy the extra spools of line .To save your self the task of winding the line .

Great Grass Trimmer!
I was previously using the black and decker 20v max model. It worked good, but having to stop and wait for batteries to charge during yard work was very inconvenient. I decided to pick up this corded model trimmer and I’m glad I did. I don’t have to wait for batteries to charge anymore and it’s so much more powerful.
