Best system ever
Aside high price the biggest issue to ever be found it's the ambiance diffraction in certain situations but it is because you can use to see really far out ( over 2 miles) - the clarity in this lens it's outstanding and the whole piece it's made to last. Paired with the atx or stx eyepiece, the zoom power it's just amazing, and resolves a lot of detail. At max zoom the 1.7x extender will degrade image quality a bit; stay a lower and it's fineCry once and pay once - compare it to other scopes, and only the top tier brands can compete (zeiss, leica...)The ability to change eyepieces is unique and provides an easier storage and stow away in a suitcase. However the stay-on covers provided by the brand are useless. Marsupial gear makes nice carry-on cases with straps way better suited to carry in the fieldRecommended A+++

My heirs may give this to goodwill before customer service helps me find replacement part
Wonderful optics but not usable without foot replacement. The foot that attaches to the tripod mount relies on a thread embedded in the tripod mount. This thread holds all the weight of the scope at the end of the tripod and is stressed with every step into the wild and every time it is set down in the car seat. This design is adequate for target shooters and folks that keep the scope in the closet all year. We are out birding 100 days/year. We notified customer service 3 months ago and received a service number but zero action. We tried on line and with a local dealer. The dealer noted that customer service is not very good, even for himself a dealer. So we went back to our Vortex viper which has superior service and attachment point. The Swarovski is too expensive for us to toss but were sure that your heirs in 30 years will wonder why we kept an unusable scope in the closet and will send it to good willupdate 12 27/22. After having the neighbor/MacGyver type look at it, the problem was failure of the reducing brushing which is removable and replaceable for $3. If anyone from Swarovski sees this review suggest to the engineers to us something stronger than brass for the reducing brushing and hire someone in customer service so that users can find the solution sooner.
