Double seals perfectly
I bought this model due to the brand and the DOUBLE SEAL. I know no one should be this excited over a single function but this cuts my processing time and I like efficiency. The seals are perfect every time. Everything works as expected.

It really works
Love this machine. Well worth the price. Seals great. Takes seconds to take air out. Easy to store. It’s not a toy like 2 others I bought and returned.

Very nice, low cost sealer
This is my 2nd vacuum sealer since I began using one. The first was a name brand Food Saver machine that lasted for years and years. That one had the auto grip sealer function, but that always acted up over the life of the product. It very suddenly stopped working (motor and suction would not come on). Okay, time for a new one. They still sell that original machine, but it is a few hundred dollars. I researched and read a lot of reviews this time and decided on this very cost friendly machine by Magic Mill. What really attracted me was the manual grip and seal and, of course, the price. This time around I wanted to try manually placing the bag, locking the lid in place and then sealing. Unlike the auto grip feature on my last machine, I have had zero issues with the Magic Mill. I also love, love, love the double seal lines this new machine does! The Food Saver did not do that and often found the seals had failed in the freezer. This machine is also much quieter and has better suction than my last sealer. Very easy to use controls. There is only one gripe I have with the Magic Mill machine, and it really has me scratching my head. When I first hooked the machine up, I could not fine the power button to turn it on. Reading the manual did not help. I did notice that the lights turned on when I plugged it in, but I really thought there would be a separate power/start button. I carefully re-read the manual and found the following under the Important Safeguards section: “Note: Always unplug the cord from the outlet before cleaning the appliance or when not in use.” Really, I have to unplug this machine when I’m not using it? That seems ridiculous. I think the engineer that came up with this product got to the end before realizing that he/she forgot to put in a power button, and then said, oh well, they can just unplug the unit. Crazy! But, not enough to make me send the unit back at this point. The other slightly annoying thing is that the drip tray is built in where you seal the bags and is not removable for washing. It just says to use a towel or sponge to clean out. I don’t think this will be too big an issue for me because my last machine had a removable drip tray and I can’t ever remember removing it to clean. This product also comes with the external accessory that allows you to vacuum canisters, wine bottles and stand alone bags. I never used this feature with my last machine (or very rarely), but nice to know I still have the option. It also comes with a spare lower/upper gasket, but I really don’t know why at this point. Is it because they expect one of the current ones to wear out quickly? I certainly hope not. I never had to replace the rubber gasket on my last machine. Makes me wonder about the longevity of this product. So, if this unit ends up lasting for years then I will count myself lucky for having a unit that does what it is supposed to at a bargain cost.

Much better and cheaper than my Food Saver model.
I have been using an old Food Saver for years on the "seal only" mode. It has worked just fine over the years to re-seal potato chip bags and breakfast cereal, etc. But I needed to actually vacuum seal a number of bags. I took out my Food saver newer model that I had been saving for just this situation. What a Joke! It created a vacuum just fine, but would not allow me to seal items while it held the vacuum. It didn't even provide the basic seal only mode that the older model allowed. This one works perfectly, much better in every regard at half the price. It was delivered over night and got the job done right the first time. Will not be using the Food Saver brand ever again!

Love this vacuum sealer!
So I bought a very expensive sealer at Walmart and ended up taking it back because if you had any juices in whatever you were sealing, the sealer would keep vacuum sealing the bag and get juices in the area where the bag needed to be sealed resulting in a broken seal every single time.It was frustrating, because the first cheapie I bought didn't do that.Well I took a chance on this one because people talked about the manual mode. and it didn't disappoint!I haven't figured out how to do jars but I love this sealer!I am able to use the manual mode for item such as shredded cheese that you don't want to become a matted mess! I used it on some leftovers too and it performed beautifully!I highly recommend this model, watch for it to go on sale, I got like 30.00 dollars off.
