It’s a toilet seat, but a very good one!!!
I was tired of the finish coming off on the wood seat that came with the toilet and wanted the fit to match the American standard toilet we had. Fantastic seat for the money. Some complain that the install was hard, but it was super easy. 10 min install including cleaning the toilet! 10/10 would buy again!!! Excellent quality and soft close, very durable and not flimsy

Easy install, solid product, not overpriced!
We had an American Standard toilet with a soft close lid. The top lid spring failed allowing it to crash down in the night when the wife was using it. Once you have a soft close toilet lid, crashing lids at other locations are common for us. The wife said fix this! I looked an several different seats and finally chose this unit. The first thing I noticed is it is constructed from thicker material that the lid I replaced. I didn't check the weight of the seat against other lids but I recommend doing so to estimate how much material is in the product. Others said it was over priced but I don't think it is.As a novice, I was very confusted on top or bottom mounted seats. After a few youtubes I figured out the top mount is designed for those toilets that do not have bolts that are accessable from the side or bottom of the bowl. This unit comes with the mounts for either top or bottom mount. Since the current toilet is open on the sides, the bolts are easily accessable and I chose bottom mount. It installs quickly but it isn't clear what the rubber washer is to be on the bolt. I put it between the nut and the plastic washer. I assumed that that would provide resistance to the nut unloosing. We'll see if I'm right.

Great seat (2nd purchase), poor instructions
Seat is very nice, good weight, and comfortable, and the seat and cover automatically close slowly when lowered. The instructions stink. Main issue is that, for my toilet anyway (American Standard), the mounting piece referred to as the “hinge” has to be rotated 180 degrees from what the diagrams in the instructions implied to me. One of my photos shows the way I had to install the hinge. Because of this I had to remove the entire thing and reinstall; took over an hour. Other instruction issues: (1) after install I had 2 plastic washers left over (other photo), not referred to in the instructions; (2) instructions could have said one or two words about when to top-mount vs bottom-mount. Another issue is that when bottom-mounting (the case with most American Standard toilets), the screw, bowl plug, washer, and nut on one of the sides are extremely difficult to install, as the screw is short and the screw and other pieces are hard to reach and screw together.

Top mount hardware
Top mount hardware is easy to install but after a few weeks of seat use the seat loosens up considerately. The reason I replaced the old seat was for this same reason. would not tighten up at all. other than that the seat seems to be of good quality. Still not worth the price I paid and the side to side sliding makes for an unexpected ride. BTW the price of the seat was only $30.00 less than I paid for the entire toilet.

NOT AN EASY ONE for the average home owner to install
ordered this replacement seat . when it arrived , looked more complicated than my pay grade. a professional plumber was able to sort it out- but this unit was a new one for him . it gives you two options to install .he liked the seat, good color match , once in - more of a soft close type. nice design , but not as easy for the non-pro.

Installation of toilet lid
Instructions could be presented easier. What's the difference between bottom n top installation. Product once installed works great.
