Excellent slide board
If I could have given this more stars I would have. I was in subacute rehab, trying to use the slide boards that they had in their facility, but I could not. I looked at Amazon to see if they had any different slide boards and found this one. My therapist said that it probably not going to work, but I decided to try it anyway. It worked so well. I was immediately able to use the slide board and progress in my therapy. The therapist at the facility showed everyone and they had planned on ordering some for their facility.

Very sturdy plastic transfer board
Very well made and much sturdier than I thought it would be. I ordered this while in a rehabilitation facility to use for wheelchair transfers. I wanted to learn with this since it is what I will be using at home. My PT team all thought it was a great product and gave their approval. Also the curved shape helps to avoid the wheel on my wheelchair which helps keep it level during transfers.

Get's the job done!
My husband has been totally incapacitated by a surgery gone bad, and while he can sit, he has lost all use of one leg, and his upper body strength is pretty much minimal. The only way to get him from bed to wheelchair, or wheelchair to a car seat is with a slide, becauses he cannot stand and pivot, and I can't hold him up by myself. While I became accustomed to using a straight wood slide board in the rehab, I liked the design of this one better, especially for getting him in and out of the car, since I'm limited as to how far I can bring the wheel chair even with the car seat, plus leave room for me to stand in front and assist him. The curved shape provides the perfect trajectory to slide him over on, p-lus the smooth surface permits easy movement without him sticking to it. The grips on the underside prevent the slide from slipping while moving him, yet it is still easy enough to pull it out from under him once he is situated where he needs to be. While these things are rather pricey, it does what it is intended to do.

Works better than shorter boards BUT! sharp edges from mold seamline aren't filed off.
This slide board works better than ones several inches shorter. However, sharp edges along mold seams (perimeter and handle) could cut unprotected hands. Better use a file from your garage to knock off the sharp edges. Imported products must no longer go to re-manufacturing to fix defects. Be ready to buy and return as many times as it takes to get one without sharp edges OR grab that file.--We used that file and the board works great.

Easy Slide!
My husband recently had a stroke leaving him basically incapacitated; he is not able to stand or walk. While in rehabilitation, there were always two individuals to help him transfer from his bed to his wheelchair, etc. At home, l am the only person doing this. The physical therapist recommended a slide board, and after researching the reviews, I decided to try this one. My husband is not a small individual (273 lbs.), and neither one of us is young (both 78 years old). The physical therapist was very surprised with this board, and it really does the job! It is thin, smooth enough to wedge under him, and easy enough for him to slowly shimmy across to complete a transfer. It is very durable and lightweight, but it is strong enough for a heavier person to use. It has a slight curve to it, which allows the patient to be a bit more flexible and comfortable than using a straight board.I also purchased a sheet for this board to make sliding easier, but it is seldom necessary. We are very pleased!!

Way too short!
I have a Toyota Camry. This board would need to be a foot longer to transfer from a wheelchair to the front seat of the car.
