It fit, it works, it solved the problem. Watch a video if you don't know, there's several things that have to be taken out of the way for installation. So happy there's decent aftermarket parts for a 30 yr old vehicle. Saved a billion dollars because the shift problem was a bad cable end NOT the transmission.

Great fit for 1997 Chevy 1500

Didnt see a real review for this cable so id thought id give it a shot for the price. Clearly marked made in china. The build/quality seemed fin out of the package. It installed way easier than the old one coming out. The gasket pass through was a perfect fit. I installed it on my 96 c1500. It came with two mountable cable ties. After i installed it, the truck shifted gears like normal again. I mean for the price i dont think it can be beat. It may not last as long as a doorman but again the quality seems decent so we will see.

For the $22 or whatever, it really did the trick. You might have to find tune with the adjustment procedure if you REALLY need to be able to select 1st. But if you are towing with your Classic OBS, you are probably a "GM Genuine" type of fox

Build quality seems pretty decent, not as nice as the original. Fits ok, but I couldn't get it to shift all the way down to first, even after several readjustments. It works great since it ships quick and for being able to use the truck again until I have the time to order a better replacement. $20 part for over 6 months of use is fine with me.
