Duncan Pulse Yo-Yo

This is the second Duncan Pulse yo-yo that we've bought. It works great and makes tricks really easy to pull off. It's a different design from the first one we got (that one was bought about a year ago). The earlier one had friction stickers near to the bearing to keep the yo-yo responsive but this one has small teeth instead. I think the new design works better although 'spin time' is very slightly reduced. The batteries have also been changed in the new design with smaller batteries. Don't know how well these will last but the batteries in the old design of Duncan yo-yo that we got a year ago are still going strong.I'm very puzzled by the fact that so many people have given this product a poor review based upon the fact that the lights don't work. I really wonder if it's because some people aren't familiar with how to 'throw' a yo-yo of this type (i.e. one designed for tricks). The lights are operated by a simple (but quite elegant) mechanism which involves springs that are surrounded by metal contacts. When the yo-yo spins, the centrifugal force bends the springs so that they touch the contacts, thus completing the lighting circuit. Simply dropping the yo-yo and the bouncing your hand to return it (like you would with a traditional yo-yo) doesn't spin it fast enough to bend the springs - I know because I've tried it. Thus if you try to use it like a traditional yo-yo you'll probably conclude that the lights are broken. To get this to light up you really have to 'throw' it to the floor with your palm up (there are loads of tutorials showing how to do this). It's not difficult to learn.

Got a defective unit, only one side lights up. Not a problem with a battery as I can get the broken side to flash if I tap it really hard. The side that does light up looks great and is very bright, it spins well and feels well made. Overall I'm happy with it and it's a good yoyo.Would give 5 stars if I didn't receive a faulty unit.note: The color you select isn't just the text / decal, it also tints the entire yoyo. This was quite a nice surprise.UPDATE: Giving this 5 stars from 3 stars. After opening the yoyo up, I adjusted the metal contact points using a screw driver. This fixed the non lighting up issue as it wasn't sensitive enough. I pushed the spring closer to the metal contact point and now both sides light up perfectly.

Nice colors when it spins one side doesn't light up as much,it is a okay looper and not bad spin time and nice hi-tech yo yo great.I liked it,worth buying for nighttime play.Not as good as the Duncan bumblebee at looping though but better for doing more advanced sleeping tricks like string tricks.Brad.

I wouldn't expect any less from a Duncan yo-yo. Solid build quality and easy (ish) to use. But that is through my own skill not anything to do with the actual product.

Good yo-yo but was way too expensive for what it is

I bought this and a blue one for my daughters. Admittedly they are a little young (read short) to operate this Yo-Yo...but I'M not! I'm not a Yo-Yo pro but these make me FEEL like one. The way they light up is simply amazing to behold. I had really thought of keeping them for myself (and still am) but I'll put them away till the girls are a little older. They absolutely love them! Great choice and great buy.Amazon rules!

Excellent for beginners.. I highly recommend this product. It has weight to it and feels solid. Good price too. It flashes in multiple colours.

Questo è uno YoYo responsive, ma per tutto il resto tradizionale. Il prodotto è come descritto e il suo moto è arricchito dalle luci. Non è uno YoYo professionale, ma permette qualche giochetto.

Produits corrects à la description. aucun défaut, fonctionne parfaitement bien. Mon fils s'amuse beaucoup avec, un grand merci au vendeur pour la qualité de ses produits.
