Casio Beep Alarm Clock - White (TQ140-7)
A cute little travel alarm clock which is more or less perfect for my needs. The face is very clear and it has illuminated hands. The tick is quiet and the alarm has an audible "beep" which is suitably annoying! An important feature for me is the simple controls - nothing too small or fiddly.I don't see what anyone could possibly criticise about this little clock: it is exactly what it purports to be. They even give you a battery. The price is very reasonable.Oh, it's black by the way, not white, as if that matters.

good looking and works very well. recommend buy.
I like clocks. Don't know what it is about em but I just like them. I used to collect in a very small way, and not usually the high end buy for future sale thing. I'd see a clock and just love it and so I'd buy it. I even bought a non working clock at a boot sale just because it was so darn pretty in a very plain way. And a very unusual looking red.Well ... as you see. This is not a fancy clock. But I happen to need one anyway and this caught my eye. I liked it, thought it was bigger than it turned out to be but .... it fit the space intended for it as if were designed for that place.Of course you're more interested if the thing works okay. You bet. It does just fine. If you have need of an attractive well working clock for a small space near you, this is the one. The one thing I can't vouch for is the alarm, because I never use alarms.

No fuss, inexpensive, smart looking little alarm clock.
Clear clock face, works on one battery. Just a solid 'bog standard', no frills, easy to use alarm clock. Set up in seconds.Silent in use/no ticking. Has a little light & glowing numbers to help you see the time in the dark.

It's a great little clock
Bought this item as a bedside clock for my elderly mam. It's compact, great neon pointers which is good for someone with failing eyesight. Easy to set alarm, but she doesn't need to use that bit of it.. Good price, good make, speedy delivery. Would recommend. I bought the white but there are other colours. I didn't have any reason to contact the supplier, whole transaction went smoothly

Cheap + cheerful. Bought 2. 1 was faulty.
I bought the CASIO TQ-140-1B (BLACK with WHITE face) + the CASIO TQ-140-7 (WHITE). They look like cheap plastic clocks.SECOND HAND - It is not a sweep second hand. It ticks. The tick is not as quiet as some when can only hear it if you put to your ear. But the tick is still not noticeable unless you focus on it - so it shouldn't be a prob for most.SETTING TIME + ALARM - They are 1 combined button at the back - so a bit fiddly.BATTERY - The battery is included. The battery goes in at the back. The cover is abit awkward to get off but it is very easy to replace the battery..ALARM - It is a beep style. There seems no difference in the beep frequency or volume the longer the alarm goes. I find the beeps shrill + not the nicest sound to wake up to. (see my other reviews) They are loud and stay loud. The turn off is easy - it's on the top.SNOOZE/LIGHT - There are no snooze or light.ACCURACY - It's a Quartz + should be reliable. Having said that - I checked time against the official clock for a couple of days. It was clear within the 1st 2 hours that the WHITE one was already losing time - albeit just seconds. The second hand seemed to struggle at points, then be ok, then get caught again. The BLACK one with WHITE FACE seems more reliable.SIZE - It's small + light for travelling. You get what you pay for. But it's good for travelling - you won't worry about losing it or it getting damaged.Point to mention - if you do need a replacement, get a different colour as the clock faces (and likely the parts) are different. The white face on my black clock was different to the one in my white clock.

Cheap, works
I bought one of these for the guest bedroom and the much more expensive Braun BNC008GY-RC for me. It didn't last long. The guests get the awful Braun and I get this much more practical Casio. It does everything you need in an alarm clock, keeps good time and has a loud, reliable alarm sound. The only slight down-side is the ticking which might keep you awake at night (although I don't mind it).

A small analogue travel alarm clock
I have used a couple of similar Casio alarm clocks over the years and I bought this one to replace one that had expired after about ten years service. Quite small at around a couple of inches square it is easy to slip into an overnight bag to take travelling. It has a quiet tick so will not disturb a light sleeper too much, and an alarm that is annoying enough to wake you up ok!Costing about as much today as my previous one did back in 1999 it represents pretty good value for money. Although described as white mine is actually black as illustrated - that didn't bother me but contact the vendor first if you really do want a white one! On my 15" laptop the illustration is about actual size. The hands on my clock are luminous, even though another reviewer says his are not. Luminous features need to be exposed to reasonable amounts of light for a period of time for them to work properly, and even then they will only glow for a limited period - this clock is no exception! At less than six quid this has got to be a five star product for value, and if you are looking for a small analogue travel alarm clock then this is it.

Almost perfect
This is a really good and accurate clock, it a perfect size for a bedside table and for travel. However, one of the main reasons I bought it was for the luminous numbers and hands, and unfortunately they simply don't work..I have tried sitting it in front of a light source for well over an hour and whilst they glow nice and bright to start with, if I wake in the night they are way too dim to read.Other than that it's a great clock
