Really nice automatic for a price of a dinner (and don't worry if you have wrist-size concerns!)
This watch looks as good as in the pictures. The colors are almost the same and it looks quite awesome. Dial is easy to read and the trilingual date is also a great thing. The materials are classy for a "casual wear" watch. (as expected from Seiko though...)The glass back is a really nice thing to stare at, if you are interested in the watch's movement. The strap seems to be good too, though I usually wear leather straps, but this nylon strap fits the body of the watch well, and its color is the best choice for this dial. I assume it would look quite strange with a leather strap in this colour, so don't worry about it.The lenght of the strap was my biggest concern until I opened the box. I have a thick wrist (approx. 19 cm's) and was not sure if it will fit me. Don't worry if you are a bit more robust than average - I can use the 3rd or 4th hole on the strap without squeezing the blood out of my veins. Strap lenght is about 20 cm's.The diameter of the body is smaller than today's average, it is 3.6 cm's. As I am a bit oversized, I am usually wearing watches with 4cm+ diameter, so I also had concerns that the watch would look like a ladies' timepiece on me. It doesn't.The Seiko 5 movement is okay, but needs bi-weekly time adjustments. Anyway, just don't compare a GBP 45 movement to an IWC. At this category it is quite all right. Automatic watches keep barely keep time for long periods. The power reserve makes it tick for more than 30 hours, so if someday you'd like to wear another watch you don't have to worry that it will stop in the meanwhile. All in all: go for it, it's a good bargain for this price, especially if you're new to automatic watches.(I have made a macro of the back of this watch, looks interesting)

Very nice, happy with it, now gave it the extra star
I bought this on Amazon Prime and delivery was all you'd expect. I am generally happy with it, it came boxed with guarantee and instruction manual. It has a screw down crown which comes out halfway to adjust day and date (one in each direction) and fully out for the time. The second hand can be held in order to synchronise if that's your thing. I did that last night and checked some 14hrs later and it seems the watch lost about 8-9 seconds, which is in line with comments from other people. Updated: I checked time again after 5 days and it's still within 3 seconds, which is great. Note I also originally thought the hands/dial are not luminous but I guess they needed some sunlight to work and they are indeed luminous. An added bonus for me is that the second hand sweeps, which I wasn't expecting. The canvas strap looks pretty sturdy and has a plastic insert stitched over the buckle holes for added strength which should stop the holes from stretching. At the price point this is a nice watch, being midsize not massive helps its understated look. I felt slightly churlish not giving 5 stars originally and now I have changed my mind and added the 5th.

Watch arrived couple weeks ago and I've been wearing it ...
Watch arrived couple weeks ago and I've been wearing it day and night so far without any problems. The watch and the band both feel comfortable, just keep the wristband snug but not tight to keep it from sliding and rolling around your wrist. Watch definitely has a quality and a classic minimalistic look on it in my opinion. Many say it is too small which is not true. I would say it's "normal" size watch and if it were any larger, it would look just plain stupid. Classic looking watch with a classic size. During the first couple days, the watch was really slow, like 5-10 minutes per day, but when I adjusted it second time it has been quite accurate. Only 3-5 seconds per day which is accurate enough for sure. Great watch indeed, I like the weight, looks and the feel of it. And the price? I just might buy another one...

Good solid, old fashioned, reliable craftsmanship
Well engineered and robust watch, typical of what you'd expect from Seiko in this field. The watch face is not too large, so it's unobtrusive and not at all "showy". The day/date is relatively easy to set up, though if you've been used to automatic watches in the past, it feels a bit of a headache doing it the old-fashioned way. It's a kinetic watch, the principles of which elide me, but it works fine. The strap is a no frills woven one, great for the rugged outdoors (or if, like I, you just can't be bothered taking it off when your doing rough stuff). It's easy to put on, even in the dark. the illumination is basic, but at the price, it would be churlish to complain. So overall, good value and a handsome, even masculine looking watch, without the appearance of a ship's porthole equipped with useless bevels and steel/rubber additions so typical of contemporary fashion.

A Great Seiko As Usual
As usual for Seiko. a great watch for the price. Seiko are always well made and this is no exception. Just the right size for my wrist and frankly I can't understand the modern trend in supersize gents' wristwatches. I've read some of the 1 star comments too. I don't know where some of these buyers are coming from. For example, some of them don't seem to understand what an automatic mechanical watch is. Automatics have to be worn daily or in the case of most Seiko watches waved from side to side for half a minute or so to keep the watch wound if you don't like wearing a watch except when out and about. Mechanical watches are not as accurate as quartz watches as their 'beat' isn't nearly as rapid as a quartz crystal! If you just want accuracy, buy a £5 'cheapo'. The advantage of an automatic is of course that you won't have to trust the competence of a high street jeweller to change the battery without digging a furrow in the back plate! As for the glass; it is glass - not plastic as one reviewer tries to claim. And some of the most famous and very expensive mechanical watches are automatics of course, and even if they're certified chronometers, have a look at what their daily accuracy is actually guaranteed to. You'll be surprised!
