Perfect
Very impressed. I’ve got a relatively small garden of 100m squared.Have used a push spreader but found it to be uneven and led to scorching of the grass. This is so much better, really easy and provides better, more even coverage.

Good Value Spreader
I needed to spread a lot of grass seed, mostly on steep slopes, so this seemed a better solution to the push along type of spreader. Also for something that will be used very occasionally if at all in the future it is a good value solution. The spreader is operated by turning a handle on the side which spins a wheel that the contents drop on to and there is an adjustment knob to regulate the flow. The hand grip with the arm rest works well so the arm is taking the weight rather than the wrist. Pulling a trigger opens the exit hole and the flow adjustment just limits the amount it opens. I found that unless I set it to fully open very little seed at all comes out. A further control is the speed of turning the handle which dictates how far out the seed is thrown. The faster you turn the further the seed is thrown so the thinner the coverage tends to be. The flow also drops a little as the level in the hopper reduces. All the above leads to it not being very accurate and that is probably true but it does the job. I think it is better to judge the coverage by knowing the area you wish to cover with a full hopper and go over that area until empty. Also note that the hopper needs a bit of shaking as the level gets low and needs to be leaned a little to encourage the grass to come out. I have not tried it with any other product so it could be that different forms of fertiliser flow easier. The bottom line for me is that I was able to easily spread a known amount of grass seed over a known area and I now have the start of a decent lawn. All without having an expensive piece of kit in the shed which I will probably never use again so it has been really good value for money and did the job intended.I f you find my revere helpful please click the'helpful' button so I known I am not wasting my time. Very handy and easy to use, should last years
I used this with the EverGreen 4 in 1 lawn care product. I wasn't sure after seeing some of the reviews, but I figured I could return it if it didn't pan out but I actually didn't have any issues at all. It spreads a good meter around you so it's just a simple case of walking in straight lines (and not too slowly because this does work well), the handle is really good, it doesn't allow the full weight to go onto your wrist. One piece of advice I'd give is just keep this upright even after you use it, as with any spreader there will be seeds/whatever you're using left on the spinning plate so you don't want to waste a load which can go back into the bag.I can see this lasting a good few years, unless you load it up with some heavy and clunky stuff and keep cranking until you grind plastic, which wouldn't be the intended use.

No instructions with the device
Arrived in good time as scheduled. However, no instructions at all with it. Not difficult to figure out and I have read the other reviews so know to keep it topped up.

So far it works well
Read some reviews on this and similar types, all with the same complaints so bought with a little hesitation. Well... so gar it works pretty well. No issues at all. No clogging, shuts off completely so no product loss or waste. So happy with my purchase.

Good but has its flaws
This is a decent spreader, but has it flaws. The handle is easy to turn and the spinner spreads seed/fertiliser nice and evenly. It has 5 feed adjustment settings - this is reasonably useful. The only con of this spreader is how the seed falls from the main compartment onto the spreader disk; It flowed well when there was a large amount of seed in it but as it reduced you had to shake it and tip it to get it to fall through the hole... This was quite annoying and did cause some uneven spreading...But, it’s far better than speeding by hand so for the price it’s a decent tool, perhaps they need to rethink where the feed hole sits

How to make it work correctly !
Having read the many reviews that mention how hard it is to turn the handle on this spreader and how stiff it is even when you manage to get it going I thought I would take a chance and buy one as all the other types I had tried were a nightmare for over spreading at the end of a run and as I have a fairly small garden I was tired of burning the grass at every turn.Sure enough, when it arrived I could hardly turn the handle at all, even when empty, I thought the handle would break. However, being an ex engineer and ex mechanic I decided to go for broke and dismantled it completely, I oiled all the bevel gears and bearing surfaces with motor oil (5-30 was all I had at the time) and reassembled it, low & behold it turns like a F1 car on nitro, so good in fact that I got a 3 - 4 meter spread with ease, and being able to stop the flow manually at the end of a run, no over application and no burns - even better, I could turn it so slowly that I could get down to a very accurate 30cm spread.
