Quality item, keeps your drink cold
I purchased this set of ice mugs to replace a similar set that had a few broken mugs. These mugs feel heavy enough for sustained use. My wife and I use these several times a week for cold drinks at suppertime. Using these ice mugs means no more weak, diluted drinks because the ice melted.Since receiving this set, they have been used almost everyday. I did have the handles separate from the mug's body near the top on two of these mugs after being in service for a long time. No problem though, I glued the handles back to the mugs and all was well.I would order these ice mugs again.

Awesome mugs
I love these mugs. I've usually had the cheap solid pink kind you see at Wal-Mart but I wasn't thinking and put it through the dishwasher and it got a tumor, lol. So I ordered these. I love these! I'll never buy another type of frozen mug again. The crackly ice cube looking sides go pretty solid white when it freezes, and goes more clear as it warms up which gives you a nice visual indicator how cold it is. The broad and flat handle feels good in your hand, very solid and I like the colorful trim.I was tempted to dock one star over the coaster issue, but decided it's not that big a problem. What I mean by coaster issue is that because the bottom is plastic, it gets frosty so if you have a cloth based coaster as it warms that part gets moist and tacky and will pick the coaster up with it. Rather irritating. If they had just put some rubber on the bottom, or thicker plastic, that would have been avoided.

INSTRUCTION SAY NOT TO FREEZE BELOW 10C (or 14 DEGREES F) my fridge's freezer hits ZERO
If the instructions are to be believed, I feel that these do not have an adequate built-in reasonable safety factor-for use in a very large proportion of MODERN refrigerator/freezers, with an average family using them. Unless it is expected that someone will actually be checking the condition of the gel between 2 and 4 hours. And time pressures being what they are, its doubtful, after the first or second usage , that an average adult would keep track of the time closely enough to pull them out before the 4 hour deadline each time. They may be perfectly fine for household where the kids are so antsy they can't WAIT 4 hours. to use them. The slip that's packed inside each mug says :"For the best results, place your Frosty Mug UPSIDE DOWN in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator FOR 2-4 HOURS, when the coolant (non-toxic) appears frozen, remove it from the freezer and fill with your favorite drink. Feel free to re-freeze, again and again.DO NOT USE IN MICROWAVEDO NOT FREEZE BELOW -10CHAND WASH ONLY.I'm willing to bet that a large proportion of users either never read that slip or misread it.The -10C proscription really caught my eye.For those of you unfamiliar with Centigrade (or Celsius) MINUS 10C = PLUS 14 degrees Fahrenheit.(That's fairly balmy as freezers go.)In a modern refrigerator, many of which do not have a separate freezer thermostat control, the CENTER position in the refrigerator temp range adjustment is calibrated to keep homogenized milk sufficiently cold, according to health authorities, to keep it health enough to drink, and in a decent quality refrigerator with good insulation, that center setting will often result in a temperature significantly below +14 F in the freezer compartment. I just checked ours in the center position, (with a freezer thermometer) to verify, and its right at ZERO degrees Fahrenheit.......Considering the surface area of the mugs, and the relatively thin layer of coolant in the walls, I would think that the manufacturer has determined that keeping the freezing time within that narrow 2-4 hour interval and temperature range, IS NECESSARY to keep the plastic AND the gel from getting too cold and becoming brittle enough to be damaged by the temperature alone in an average refrigerator freezer, so as to extend the mug's useful life.
