L-Leucine arrived on time and in tact. No odor or smell upon opening the bag. The product does not have a flavor. I’ve been adding it and creatine (also from Bulk Supp) to my Hydration drink. It does not dissolve fully, but not an issue for me. I just shake well before taking each sip. I may try it in my iced coffee.I’ve only been drinking it for 2 days, but will report back with results. No gas, no stomach upset.Updated (1 Week):Still no side effects or gastrointestinal issues. Progressive load and endurance in gym is much improved. Increased muscle pump (glutes/hams/quads).Since this product Does not fully dissolve in cold, warm or hot liquids I would suggest adding to a smaller quantity of fluid, and drinking all at once. I currently had been mixing w/hydration or Xtend EAA and sipping throughout the day, but by the end of day, product is at the bottom of vessel.I added to my hot coffee, product did not dissolve, floated to top, but also added a ‘peanut like’ flavor to coffee. Going forward I am only going to mix with 4oz Hydration fluid and drink at once.I’ll still leave 5 stars because supplements just simply have nuances and we just have to figure out what route & dose is best for us.

This is for pure Leucine powder. This is the most effective of the three amino acids found in the typical BCAA supplements. I figured why not just get the one I need and not pay for the other two that I don’t care about (Iso-leucine and valine).The price is certainly affordable. It is nice that there is no filler. The packaging is what is really key here. It does not take up too much space and the material, particularly the “zip-lock” type seal are really high quality.The taste is not too bad. You have to go into it knowing that it is not koolaid so its not going to taste like candy. But it is certainly drinkable in water. It dissolves okay as well. These are two key points were I saw complaints before and I have not found any problems.I think this is perfect for someone who wants to train with weights in a “fasted state”.Mixes okay and no digestion problems.

The taste is horrible and it requires a mixing device to dissolve it. A flavored drink mix makes it tolerable. At age 69, I feel results quickly and pay attention. My energy level and strength are up noticeably after only two doses.

This product is great! I can already start to see a difference in my body composition. Also, Great price for the quantity and quality; however, it does not dissolve well and it has a salty taste to it. I recommend buying a drink mix that you like with a strong flavor and mixing it in a bullet/ninja blade mixer. If you do this, you will have a great drink! Anyhow, this is a great buy, and I highly recommend it if you are trying to build muscle and maintain a healthy body composition.

I purchased this after doing some research into body building and consistently seeing leucine mentioned as one of the most important amino acids to deliver after a workout. I looked for the recommended dosage, checked my regular whey protein supplement and realized it only delivers about half of the amount. I was already going to purchase another supplement from this seller, so grabbed another one as well. I have now been using is as recommended (1 tsp twice a day) and have seen some improvement in strength at the gym. However, this might also be attributed to the beta alanine supplement I purchased at the same time and have been using together with this one. In any way, I am happy with the purchase. The product dissolves well and it's a great price for the amount. The only drawback is the taste, it's really gross so I dissolve it in a half cup of milk, chug it and chase with a glass of water. It is not so noticeable when added to a full cup of milk and whey protein powder though.

I have now subscribed to ConsumerLab.com to get unbiased reviews. Bulk Supplements generally has well over 50% of its stated potency and the initially quality of its supplements is very high. I say "initial quality" as the "zip-lock" like bags it sells its products in very quickly deteriorate and often come apart at the seams. I've boughts literally hundreds of their products, all of which I have been INITIALLY satisfied with. I will not likely purchase this brand going forward because the packaging nearly ALWAYS FAILS over time. Its failure to close properly means that the products suffer from oxidative damage due to poor or NO CLOSURE. I suggest that they completely redo their packaging. It is wonderful if it were single use, but totally unacceptable for any multiple use "bulk" powders.3 FAILURE MODES:WON'T CLOSE, CLOGGED ZIP CHANNELThis often happens on the first time a package is opened. It is inevitable as the powder falls in the "crack" of the zip channel and prevents closure.WON'T OPEN, CLOGGED ZIP CHANNELAir moisture causes many of the powders to become very sticky. A tiny amount of the powder gets in the zip channel every time the package is opened and an amount is removed. After that the package is hard to open and then often the final failure mode below, occurs.WON'T CLOSE BOTH ZIP CHANNEL PARTS STUCK TO ONE EDGE OF PACKAGE OPENINGAfter this closure is only possible with a customer supplied clip or rubber band. Very convenient - for Bulk Supplements.ACKWARDFlexible plastic bags are ackward to hold and dispense the correct amount with a scoop or spoon. A screw-top jar, such as other companies provide is highly recommended.
