Lots of playability, very fun game.
They provide step-by-step instructions leading you through the game slowly. I wouldn't say it's easy to learn, but it's a lot easier than some board games. What made it confusing was that it splits the game into 4 different chapters, slowly adding stuff and removing stuff. I understand what they tried to accomplish here, but they should've just taught everything all at once because from chapter 1 to 4, they change how the game is played by adding new stuff. It comes with 8 characters, and you can pick a different team of 4 every game. The game has a lot of playability as is, but you can also buy expansion packs that come with even more characters, and they're relatively cheap. The game is exciting and unique, and I highly recommend it.

Wait, this is actually a gamer's game?
Background: I am an avid board and video gamer with kids aged 2 to 12.Review: This game came as a complete surprise to me and intellectual property like this is usually used to sell poorly designed games. This is not the case for Sorcerer's Arena. After researching this game, I thought it might be a good gateway game to get my kids into other games that I own that are similar, such as Unmatched or Summoner Wars. To my surprise, this game actually packs just as much depth as both of those games.I tried jumping into the full rules, but my kids seemed overwhelemed, so we decided to use the simplified chapter system in the games rules that teaches parts of the rules at a time. This worked very well as in only a couple of games, my 12 year old can play and win with the full rulebook. I also can player with the more simplified chapter rules with my 6 and 9 year old and still enjoy a fun deep game. The game has you form a team of 3, mixing their decks together to create unique combo opportunities, such as an all spellcaster team (Facilier, Mickey Malificient), or Tanks and Heals (Gaston, Sully, Ariel). With only 8 characters in the base game though, you will definitely be hungry for more characters, so know that you likely will be wanting to buy expansions as well.Overall, this is not just a game to gateway people into modern board games. This is a modern board game with a rule system to allows people to approach it at their own pace. Very well designed and if the expansions are similar quality, I will be buying them all.

Great game
I like the game and it’s pretty easy to play. I was disappointed that we were missing Mickey and Aladdin and that wasn’t caught until we went to play it the first time. So all we got were 6 out of the 8 characters and no duplicates. I was disappointed with that part. I would recommend the game.
