You Can't Go Wrong with Legos!
My almost five-year-old son was invited to a birthday party so I was figuring out what to get the birthday boy. My son doesn't know him too well but I figured Legos are a good, safe gift for boys and girls of all ages. Since we could buy Legos for age five plus, that opens up a lot more options and I came upon this set as well as a couple others. I asked my son which one he wanted to give to his classmate and he picked this one. This Lego City Coast Guard set is a nice option if you want a smaller set of Legos. I didn't open this box since it was a gift but I've seen these in stores and I looked over the box while I was wrapping the present. This set comes with 76 pieces and is rated for ages 5 to 12.I took my son to the birthday party and the birthday boy loved his gift! Even the other boys were oohing and aahing over it so I think it's safe to say that these would make a great gift for any kid! My son actually didn't want to give this gift to his friend since he wanted to keep it. Little does he know Santa is getting him some Legos of his own (shh, don't tell!)!These Legos make a great gift if you need something small and inexpensive or just want to get a child some Legos without the parents wanting to tear their eyeballs out over a 1000-piece Lego set. If my twins get invited to more birthday parties, it seems Legos are a good gift and I recommend this set!

Awesome Set! Love the Shark!
The Lego City Starter sets are a great way to try a new themed Lego set and get a great assortment of minifigures. For us, this was a must buy! We have owned the Lego shark figure for years and he has mysteriously gone missing! Needless to say, the kids were thrilled to have him back today! The Lego City Coast Guard Starter Set is easy to build and comes as shown. Easy enough for the 5 year old recipient, but still fun for his more experienced 7 and 9 year old siblings. We are so looking forward to expanding this set! I purchased the Lego City Fishing Boat to go with it, but now I want all the Coast Guard sets!!

Bring on the Coast Guard!
"Every beach needs a lifeguard so why not a Lego one for your collection?" I asked myself. So of course I had to have it! Great set, several minifigs, a lifeguard/coast guard tower, beach buggy vehicle/ATV, surfer and a SHARK! Not a bad price either.Hope you like my photo too! ;)

Welcomes Christmas Present for 7-year-old
I got this for the sweet little girl who lives next door for Christmas and she loves it. Glad I found this at such a reasonable price. I haven't assembled any Legos, so I cannot tell you how easy or hard it is to put together. However, Legos are so popular I assume she won't have trouble.

Awesome LEGO shark!
This is a nice LEGO starter set.The shark that comes with this LEGO set is pretty awesome... not going to lie. It's also neat that the black/green surfer LEGO minifig has two different facial expressions depending on which way you face his head. One is the 'chill' face while the other is the 'there's a shark coming after me' face. The other two minifigs that come with this set are fairly typical of LEGO city minifigs. I will say, however, that the female LEGO minifig looks sophisticated with the glasses. There are two surfboards that come with this set... a green one and red one. The red surfboard is actually the piece you would normally find in the LEGO sets for sailing. It works well in this set too though. The lifeguard vehicle is standard and doesn't offer anything new or unique. The watchtower for the lifeguard is a nice touch, and is definitely a required staple if you have a LEGO beach scene. For me, the best part of this set is the shark... sharks don't come in too many LEGO sets, so this might be one of those rare instances where you can get a shark on the cheap and not at a significant price as part of a much larger set.In closing, I like this set... it would have been nice to have four LEGO minifigs, but I assume LEGO was using the shark as the 4th minifig since the typical starter set comes with four minifigs. If you are able to snag this set for below retail price ($9.99), then the piece/content ratio becomes even more favorable. I don't think you can go wrong with this set... especially if you have a water/beach scene in your LEGO city. Please note, these starter sets often times have a short shelf life, so you may want to grab one soon.If my review was helpful, please let me know below. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.Happy bricking.

Great set for kids. Three minifigures!
Quick decision since this has 3 minifigures for the kid to play with... and a shark! Really great that they still make these cheaper smaller sets.
