The documentation suggests using a 3.0 port. That's where I have mine connected. I will work also work in a 2.0 port.

Q: Will it work on Mint 19.0

asus nano usb ac 53 drivers are not available for linux operating system of any kind on asus portal. i am using Linux 18.3 cinnamon 64-bit, but unable to use this device. moreover an official email communication support from asus told me that they don't offer support linux.

Q: What's included in the box? All I received was the dongle, no disk, no paperwork, nothing else. Was there supposed to be something else included?

I received just the adapter. Window 10 automatically showed both bands, 5 and 2.4. I did go to asus and downloaded the driver.

Q: Do you have to download a program to use this?

You do not need to install any programs. Windows will install "drivers" which tells windows how to use the device
