Westone AudioEpic 2-Pin Cable, 64" Clear

As stated in an earlier review, this cable works perfectly with all Alien Ears Custom IEM's. A friend of mine also has Alien Ears IEM's and the IEM's themselves are excellent and very well made but the cales that come with them seem fragile as both of us have broken them (he's a vocalist & guitarist, I am a vocalist & drummer). Even though these Westone cables are light weight, which I love, they also seem robust and like they are very well made.

The first thing I noticed taking the cable out of the pouch was that the earguides were about half the size of everyone I've ever used. They end up going around about half of the top of the ear, which make wearing these cables a dream. I typically do not like earguides because they actually can affect the seal if they're not perfectly seated around the ear. I usually cut them off which takes a long time and if not careful can destroy cables. This design provides just enough support, and being smaller, helps to make my seal STAY SEALED. This is huge for me, and it's been a problem for years. I was unaware of this design. Bravo Westone.The quality of this cable is clearly of Westone's quality. Highest quality that's possible. Terminated ends are also labeled clearly. I love this company, even though I chose another company's earphones.Another great surprise to me with this cable, is that it has a spring to it which makes this cable tangle free. I've never experienced this before. I take my phone's out of their case and I don't ever have to spend time trying to untangle the mess. Bravo Westone.Lastly, from my past experience Westone has the best customer service in the business, and it's well known. Read anything on headfi, and I've never read anything but Westone having consistent world class customer service.

While still working, my original Westone cable has taken on a greenish tint in the first several inches of the cable. It seems to grow with each passing year. Although it still works fine, I figured I'd treat myself to a new one in-case the copper wire corrosion eventually causes problems. The new cable seems every bit as durable, flexible and neatly constructed as the original. The little pin end of the cable seems to match and fits my earpieces perfectly and snuggly. I recommend this cable.

I thought I would only want to use it for a few months before it needs replacing but it has been working for five months now. Given the average price, I give this 5 stars but I always wanted the cables to be cheaper so that I would be able to buy two in case the first one breaks. This is in spite of the fact that the first cable still works very well with my 64audio A6t IEM.(Edit: I might find a better cable or learn how to use the cable better in order for the cables to not break; the left plastic piece got loose and meant that I could not use the IEM in the meantime.)
