Zilla Pet Terrarium Rock Lair, Medium

I got the medium size for my African fat tailed gecko. She’s fairly small but it’s a perfect fit and she can fully turn around in it without trouble. She had a really hard time shedding her skin on her feet so I wanted to try out this product. The safest material for fat tailed geckos is wet paper towels, so that is the humidity substrate I use and it works really well. The towels stay wet and ever since the first time she shed after purchasing this, she’s had zero trouble with her sheds! I am very happy that the rock itself (both lid and bottom) are very sturdy, they do not connect magnetically like I’ve seen similar products do but all the same are very Secure and there’s no way she could take the lid off or knock it off in any way. She is a big climber too so she is also very happy to climb on top of this rock and it’s short enough where I don’t have to worry about her falling and hurting herself! It has a rough texture outside to help if she needs to rub on something to shed. And the inside is perfectly smooth didn’t have to sand it down at all! It’s super easy to clean as well! Over all I really love this product and so does my girl!

The media could not be loaded. My leopard gecko is obsessed with this hide. I put it in there and she immediately got in it! It's super sturdy, I LOVE that it's two pieces; easy clean up and easy to put some moss, paper towels, or any other safe substance. It's also super deep witch I think is perfect. She has enough room in there to move around. One thing though, when it came I had to clean it. Obviously you should clean everything before you put it in their tank but this has like glue goop or something where the holes are on the bottom but it cleaned off very easy! These are perfect for moist hides, but definitely clean this with hot water and antibacterial soap really well before putting it in the tank.

I picked this up to serve as a moist hide for my leopard gecko, and I was not disappointed. It's extremely heavy and sturdy resin, and the lid fits well. The inside has a sunken area to hold your substrate of choice, and because of the design there's little chance of it spilling or being tracked out into the rest of the enclosure. The inside is also plenty large for an adult leopard gecko - mine has been hesitant to go inside, but hasn't yet shed since I acquired it. Time will tell if she uses it.I will say that it is quite large for the amount of usable space inside - there's a lot of resin used here. That does make it very sturdy, but it also takes up a lot of floor space.Overall I would recommend it.

My gecko never comes out, which is sad but she feels safe and cozy, which is good. It’s very heavy and sturdy. Lid fits nicely. I wish the door opening was a bit bigger, but oh well. Looks good with fake moss.

I have 6 of these hides, 5 are for my ball pythons and 1 is for a rosy boa. They all love this hide, and 9x out of 10 that's where I'll find them in their enclosures. Not 1 has been broken upon receiving, they're easily cleaned and most definitely their favorite. Honestly I didn't need to buy so many other hides, because this is exactly what a snake loves. Dark, with just enough room to ball up and feel safe. My snakes seem happy, that's all that matters to me!

These hides are the best, but they really need to figure out something for shipping on these. After returns and getting new ones I still had chips and pieces broken/floating around in the packaging. The last one I got was chipped in ways that didn’t affect its functionality at all so I rolled with it.That said - I do own about 6 of these and they are amazing hides. Variety of sizes from Hognose all the way up to Ball Python. They blend in fantastically with a Bioactive setup - in fact they are he only thing not natural in all my bioactive aside from the water dish. They retain heat under a heat lamp well. They make it so that you can easily lift the top off to access you reptile if needed.These really are the ones I recommend to almost everyone getting into reptiles.

Soo, my gecko won’t come out of this thing. I’m happy he feels safe, but I never see him anymore. :(No honestly, it’s great, holds moisture pretty well and they love it. It has a nice weight to it and it is made well.
