Has anyone placed one of these directly on a carpet? if so, does it stay in place? thanks!

These mats have a commercial-grade, smooth vinyl backing, which is designed for use on hard floor surfaces (tile, wood, marble, vinyl, concrete, etc.) but could slide around if placed on top of carpet. For carpeted areas, we would recommend a rubber-backed mat with a Gripper texture on the underside to better grab the carpet and help hold it in place.Thanks,American Floor Mats

Why are multiple colors shown? Everyone in the review photos has black. Is they grey available?

the ones I ordered for living room and dining room are charcoal and the grey in them is a lt grey.bedroom and kitchen ones are brown. also have smaller ones in red.all are very nice.
