Do I need to drain the grains prior to putting in another batch? I've been using it for a couple of days and it looks like they have congealed.

I've been using this for almost a year but twice lately I've found green mold around the top of the mesh. Any idea what would be causing this?

Mesh seems melt to the container at some points. Does the mesh lose fit to the container after removal? Is it better to keep it in place?
