Has anyone had issues with up/down play when using 3/4th bike attachment?

I use it to hold my EZ Hitch Steps for access to my camper and I weigh a lot more than bicycles. I have NO "play" in my hitch attachment which extends about 22" PLUS the steps themselves from the truck-body receiver. It is rock solid but understand, I'm not using it for bicycles.
