Rostra 250-1920-FZ Front-Mount Parking Assist System

Installed it a month ago and Two of the sensors stopped working...Not a good experience...

I bought this item for a 2018 Ford Kuga. Installation wasn't too hard, and I installed them in the OEM locations.I installed the obd connections for the speed reading, and the power switch just in case I need to turn the system off. Both work correctly, so at 10 mph it actually disconnects, screen and sound.I have the following problems:- Sometimes the system is super slow to detect obstacles. The obstacle would be sitting there for sometime and then suddenly the beeping starts.- Sometimes the system doesn't shut up! I move away from the obstacles and it still reads whatever last reading it was at! The only way to resolve is to manually turn it off then on again (thank God for the switch!).- Rarely does the system work as intended; picks up obstacles correctly, clears the distance meter correctly, etc... But that is on rare occasions.- I've used the 12 degrees seats for the sensors in case they were picking up readings from the ground/road, but that didn't make a difference. They clearly weren't facing downwards in the first place.- I contacted Rostra technical support via the online form but no one responded to me.I really need help here please.

Running wiring and drilling firewall is a little challenging, along with finding the correct "hot" wire so the unit shuts off with the ignition. Also, there were no instructions in the package. I got additional direction from YouTube. But, the unit seems to work well and certainly helps when parallel parking and having to pull up close to vehicles and obstructions.

Once you get it installed this actually works really really well, I'm happy with it. Installing it was something of a pain. it would be nice if you could just plug it into the OBD port and get power from there, but you have to actually find power and a ground under the dash. The wiring that goes under the dash supplied in the kit, was excessively long so having to bundle that all up and find a place to store it was not ideal. All in all though it works pretty good, and if you're the least bit mechanically inclined, you can do it!

This is great. It installed pretty easily. I put it on my F-350 so I can park easier since my front camera is obstructed my LED lights and a light bar. I easily installed the sensors in the air dam below the bumper. Matches the black very well. I set up garbage cans and tested the sensors and they are right on. The display shows the distance in inches and it is very accurate..I was very surprised at its accuracy. Great product.
