Q: What gauge are the quick connectors in the back of the outlet (e.g., 12 or 14 gauge)?

Almost all of these style outlets will only accept 14 gauge push in wire. The side screw down will accept 12 or 14 (10 and 16 as well but 10 gauge is far too heavy for a 15A receptacle, and 16 is too light i.e 10 gauge is typical for 30 amp, 16 is 13A on short runs). Hope that helps.
