Perfect support under a softer layer
Sleep on Latex is a fantastic company with equally fantastic products & customer service. I can’t recommend them enough. We started out using a 2” soft topper, but needed more padding, so we got a 3” Talalay topper from another company and a Sleep on Latex stretch cotton topper cover to encase it. Layered with the Sleep on Latex 2” soft ended up being too soft, so we got this 2” medium layer instead, and I’m happy to say that it’s absolute perfection. My partner and I are both thin/lightweight, so we need a softer sleeping surface. At first we worried this would be too firm under the 3” Talalay topper, but when I woke up the first morning after sleeping on it, I didn’t feel sore at all — and that’s coming from someone with chronic physical pain & illness, so that’s a pretty good endorsement! Our two latex layers are on top of a 2” layer of polyfoam and an 8” Brooklyn Bedding Select Hybrid. We chose that particular mattress because it has good coils and very little foam on top (we wanted to DIY our foam layers on top of some good coils for the bounce & breathability). Latex is temperature-neutral and breathable on its own, so it doesn’t cause us to overheat and sweat in our sleep like memory foam used to.Overall really happy with our SoL topper (and topper cover) experience. The prices are fair and their latex is some of the best on the market. I highly recommend the cotton stretch cover, either from Amazon or from their site, to prevent it from ripping when you need to move it & to give it a washable barrier. It’s really soft, and unlike pretty much every other cover on the market, it doesn’t change the feel of the latex.

Unfortunate Latex Allergy
So, I wasn't sure If I was allergic to all natural latex. Of course, everything I'd ever had a mild reaction to (new paint, carpet) was loaded with chemicals, so there was really no way to know.First the pros, this topper was like sleeping on a cloud. I am both a back and side sleeper. I weigh 150 lb and I put this right on my platform bed with nothing underneath, and I didn't bottom out. So those of you who want really firm support or a portable bed to put on the floor this is wonderful! When I opened the box the smell was very mild. If marshmallows had a smell, I think this is what they would smell like. The mild scent was not bothersome. It came already in it's mattress protector, so all I have to do is lay it out in the garage on a clean spot to air out for a couple of days.I did immediately notice prickly sensation on my skins and face. But no problem, it was going to be under a mattress protector and a fitted sheet. I had contacted the sleep-on latex store previously to look at purchasing directly from them, but having some Amazon rewards I continued and purchased through Amazon. I was assured regardless of whether I purchased on Amazon or from the store directly, I would receive a 30-day trial, no hassle returns. Both my phone calls to sleep on latex were fabulous, I spoke to a person right away and they were able to answer my questions. They assured me no flame retardants were used on the mattress or the encasement. My first night goes well, but I wake up the next morning with inflamed sinuses, pretty sure it's from the mattress protector. I stick it out a second day and still have inflamed sinuses. Just in case I'm having a cold or allergies, I returned the protector to the garage to air out for another few days. My inflamed sinuses improve immediately. So a few days later, there is still a distinct scent, so I wrap the entire protector in a sheet of plastic. Cover it with a cotton blanket, mattress protector and fitted sheet. I figure this way any particles of latex going through the knitted loose weave coveright be contained. If I could have I would have sealed the plastic, but I settled for wrapping it entirely and taping the plastic on the back.3rd night, still feels amazing. Of course crinkles a bit because of the plastic I added, and I wake up again with inflamed sinuses. Insistent I can tough it out, I go in to take a nap the next day and I'm unable to fall asleep because I can still smell it! For me it's like a bunch of tiny sharp crystals are inside my sinuses poking me relentlessly. My only explanation is that I'm allergic to the smell too. :-(So sadly, I package it up and start my Amazon return to the UPS store. It of course didn't fit inside the box, but I had kept the plastic sticky wrap it came in. I was able to use this to secure it in a roll and then wrapped a second sheet of plastic over it again and secured the ends with zip ties. I then asked the UPS store to add any packaging needed for return (and our store said the double wrap of thick plastic was secure enough to ship for their requirements).Ok the up side, if you have to return to sleep on latex directly, they will send you a larger box!I've left the review at 5 stars, since there was no way for me or them to know of my allergy. I loved the product. And I really appreciated the companies customer service! The search continues now for latex free, no chemical mattresses for the family.

I sleep very comfortably on the floor with this- perfect comfy minimalist sleep solution
I wanted to dump my bed and get more space to use during the day for yoga, lifting weights, and just a less claustrophobic existence.Looked at Japanese Shikibutons, but I can't and don't want to provide the special care required to keep them from getting moldy (ie sunning them out once a month). It's a huge chore, and they can also get dirty and damaged in this process. They are also very expensive.I chose natural latex because of its long life, its natural resistance to mold, insects and general deterioration (its essentially a form of rubber- rubber doesn't go bad easily).I'm 6' tall and 175lbs, and all the mattress pads I chose to buy with Pure Green's Cover. I also used a Twin XL fitted sheet in all my tests. At first I tried the 2" Firm directly on my carpeted floor. It was NOT comfortable. I did feel the floor through the pad, and it did not feel good on my shoulders and hips in side sleeping positions. I felt it was bottoming out, and I was concerned that if I could feel that now, it might not go the distance as far as longevity. I tried this for about 5 nights in a row, hoping to adjust and I did not.I then ordered the 3" medium firm, and it was the perfect Goldilock's choice. It is just soft enough and thick enough that side sleeping is a joy and bottoming out is no longer a concern. I slept VERY well the first night, and I have absolutely no complaints. This is a perfect shikibuton replacement. Some thoughts:I love I can fold this/roll this up into roughly thirds and stand it up in the corner of my room. The 2" was about 20lbs and the 3" is about 30lbs in the Twin XL size, so the better solution is heavier. I can still fairly easily manage wrangling it up and putting it away in the morning in less that a minute. I would never choose a mattress pad on weight if it kept me up at night, which the 2" pad did.I feel like I've achieved my objective of a minimalist sleeping solution that doesn't have a lot of care and upkeep. My last mattress was a full sized natural latex mattress with multiple layers. It was like 12" thick, and super super heavy. It lasted me 20 years until it started to give up last year, so I have had a good experience with natural latex as a bedding material.I think what I am amazed by the most is that I am very comfortably sleeping on 3", not 12". I feel like I have found that point of just enough and not more to get a great night's sleep. I am very very happy.I wish I had discovered this earlier, I've spent my whole life with oversized mattresses consuming my floor plan, and I want my space back. The great thing about Twin XL as a size is that if you have a partner (or get one in the future), all you need to do is get a second pad and together they create the footprint of a King sized mattress. This is done often with Japanese Shikibutons, but a perfectly doable thing with these latex mattress pads.I'm in California and in fairly dry weather. I don't have dampness or mold as an issue. If those do somehow begin to act on my mattress pad, my intention is to just simply replace the cotton cover for $50. I'm not worried at all about the latex core, mold will never damage it.If YOU live is a place that is damp and moldy, and plan to place this directly on a surface that could get moisture accumulating, you might want to look at a Twin XL sized tatami mat- or just resort to taking off the cover and washing it a little more often- or taking the and cover off and sunning it out once a month. Still way easier than taking out a full shikibuton. If you're a minimalist looking for a comfortable back and side sleeping solution that you don't have to bend over backwards to maintain that will most likely last for a least 10 years (maybe more), get the 3" Medium Firm Mattress pad. You'll be very happy, too.

It is truly Heaven!
I'm 64 years old with back issues and an inoperable shredded rotator cuff on my dominant arm. I'm still employed full time, I'm active, I do yoga and walk my dog several times a day. So my body isn't done yet. My bed is only two years old but I found it a little too firm. Ordered a memory foam mattress topper a year ago and have been struggling with it ever since. Thought it was just me. It was like trying to turn over in wet sand. I recently re-injured my rotator cuff with more tissue tears and using the memory foam was no longer an option. I was done with it! I literally could not turn over in bed. I'm a side sleeper, I use a body pillow to support my shoulder and sleep with my one hundred pound dog who likes to cuddle. I did extensive research on toppers to find out that memory foam, while affordable, is highly toxic, contains formaldehyde, is extremely bad for the environment and all around not good. I came across latex toppers which are purely organic, plant based, derived from the sap of rubber trees, environmentally friendly, no dust mites, no bed bugs, no toxins, no nasty contaminants. Their give and return when you press on them is amazing compared to memory foam where you sink with little come back. I watched endless independent You Tube videos about both memory foam and latex toppers as far as the comparisons, read tons of independent reviews which is very important as opposed to reading manufacturers reviews, and decided I was convinced pure organic (not the organic synthetic blend which still contain toxins), was definitely the way to go. They are pricey but given next to work we spend most of our time sleeping, worth the investment if you sleep well. So I ordered the 3" medium firm. I did want the 2" but it wasn't available. What's an inch between toppers. And after so much of my research, I felt the medium firm would be best. So I dropped the $400 bucks, $90 of which was import fees, feeling my health, comfort and well being was worth it. It arrived a week early. Insanely heavy! I think I read somewhere it weighs 40 pounds, but it felt more like 140 pounds. It needed 24 hours to expand and breathe. Decided to lay it out on a blanket on the floor of my spare room. Getting it there and unboxing it was truly an olympic event. There was absolutely no off smell at all. Detected a very faint scent similar to vanilla. Let it expand and breathe for the 24 hours, then moved it onto my own bed. Slept on it last night for the first time. That was the first time since I was in my 20's that I did not wake up with a backache! In as much as it did nothing for my torn rotator cuff, it did provide more support and comfort for my shoulder. The dog also snored all night; seems a good indication he found it most comfortable as well. It also does not sleep hot like memory foam. I would absolutely highly recommend this 100% pure organic plant based, environmentally friendly topper over memory foam or a memory foam blend any day!

Caution - Very soft!
Caution! This is not Medium firm as described. This is very soft! Purchased as a firmer layer and thoroughly disappointed. Seller should be absolutely clear that this is a very soft latex topper layer which would definitely not increase the firmness of the top layer of your matress.

3" Medium Firmness - feels great
Would probably have been ok with the 2" tbh but in any case this is great. When placed on top of a cheap but very firm mattress makes a great combination, the equal of top tier mattresses but much cheaper. Very faint but not unpleasant smell initially, but gone completely now after a week or two. Feel good about having paid for certified sustainable source rather than a plantation the result of recent deforestation (or artificial rubber for that matter).

A really good natural topper
Although my grand new twin sized 11" Kingkoil bed which with a 2" pillow pad on top. still feeling too hard for my back, compared with my another existing 15 years old king sized 15" Kingkoil bed which with a 4" memory foam pillow pad on top. Searching for a topper for making my bed more softer, tried some so-called latex toppers (non-natural) including from Ikea at their showroom. Finally found this certified 100% natural latex topper. Of course natural latex is much much more healthy and better than those petroleum by-product latex. Ordered a 3" medium firmness to my Singapore home. Very good quality and the softness is adequate. My weight is 120 lbs. It enhance my bed to a more high level mattress. Some reviews say the odour is strong, but my topper is with very mild natural latex smell, just like the old days' dunlopillow natural latex pillow. However, I still hanged it for fan ventilation for 2 days. I am going to buy a second one for my mom in Hong Kong. After the happiness with this topper, I have recommended it to several friends. In future, I won't spend extra money for getting a so-called luxury mattress just like my old Kingkoil. Instead, buy a standard one and add this natural latex on top. Better than those so-called 3 to 4" pillow top mattress, which stuffed with chemical latex or foam.I highly advice not to buy those petroleum by-product topper. One of the reason is those toppers are not relatively cheap compared to this certified 100% natural latex one. You only have to pay a little bit extra. Also, this kind of topper can be last for years, and you sleep on it every night, so it is worthy.A small disappointment is that the organic cotton topper cover can not be shipped to either Singapore or Hong Kong. Although the manufacturer says the cover is not necessary as people mostly do not order with, however, the latex seems fatigue when lifting it up with hands which it might be torn apart as the topper is weighted 24lbs (for twin size). Then I use a old duvet to enclose it.
