Brilliant!
I got this item to install in my RV.I chose the grommet installation and put it through one of my cup holders in the console beside my recliner. I pulled the plastic part of the cup holder out, cut a slit through the fabric and slipped the bottom plate, already attached to the pole, through the hole. I pulled up and rotated the pole to screw it down onto the top of the cup holder.I ended up having to turn the console over and detach the fabric on the bottom of the console to tighten the bolt down and really could have used a second person to hold the pole in place, but I managed to tighten it down. The cup holder beside this one is still usable without any problem. It's completely adjustable and seems very sturdy. I'll have to give it time and see how it holds up but so far I am delighted with the end result!

Perfect for what I was looking for
I was looking for a way to have my laptop near my crafting area since my computer was across the room. It's hard to watch technique videos when you have to keep looking over your shoulder. Anyway, this mounted nicely on the corner of my craft desk that was already avoided because of the power strip mounted there for my various machines. This was super easy to assemble, had it done in less than 10 mins, and it is very sturdy. The kit came with all materials needed to attach it to a desk three different ways depending on what is available to you. The only recommendation I would like to make to the manufacturer is to change the bolt to raise and lower the stand on the post to a hand-turning knob style so that it makes it easier to quickly raise and lower the swing arm without having to find the allen wrench to do it. Not a big deal if you use it in the same position all the time. I usually stand when crafting, but sometimes need to sit for a bit, and have to lower it when I do so.

Pretty Decent As A Laptop Holder
I have a heavy gaming laptop so maybe if you have a lighter laptop you might feel this is just perfect. For me the thing is at my particular install the laptop is not level. It is slightly tilted. I have an OCD issue so this dos bother me. Most people probably would never notice the slight tilt. Also this is not designed to be adjusted easily. What I mean is it is made to be locked into place. If you want something that say when you want to get up you just move your laptop aside this is not meant to do that. All joints have allen bolts and are meant to be tightened. This makes the stand much stronger I am guessing but it is less convenient. What I do is just leave all the joints slightly loose and that way I can move it when I get up. The vertical bar is sturdy and comes with a few ways to mount it. The jaw opens wide and it made pretty well. There is a small c clip that holds the bottom clamp part in place and that popped off the first time I tightened the clamp. It's not a big deal as it doesn't affect function but it is something that should be mentioned. Overall it is strong enough and works well enough especially for the cost. Where this product excels is the size of the clamp. It is larger and more sturdy than most I have seem . If they can figure out the c shaped retaining clip on the clamp and make that better it would be real hard to beat.

Can't go wrong!
Nice and heavy duty, well constructed arm for next to my bed. My purpose for this is to use in bed with my nook, cell phone, and tablet. My 15 inch laptop is a tad bit too big to use in its current set up but, you could fix that. I put the notebook holder with the edges on the front side, instead of just having the lip on the front side....it'll make sense when you see the product in person. I preferred the crimped edges because I knew I wouldn't inadvertently knock my Nook or s7 on the floor if I fell asleep with the arm across my bed, decreasing my stress about having a cracked screen or anything else like that.Cord management is pretty good, and I really have no complaints whatsoever on quality. And, in a pinch, if you had to you could bludgeon someone to death with this thing. Seriously, it's not going to fall apart!Only complaint are the screws that hold the notebook holder to the bracket...they are phillips head screws tightened up with nuts but, the wrench that comes with doesn't work with these nuts. I'd suggest some other mounting hardware, just don't know what. I really don't think it's going to come lose but it's just my one nit picky complaint.Enjoy!!!

Very good - if it came with everything
Easy to install, feels very sturdy. Mine was missing the tightening screw for the arm that attaches to the main pole, though.

Great Product and A Neck Saver!
In the past I had two surgeries on my neck so I think my neck is particularly prone to the neck pain that comes with using electronic devices. I use my iPad and laptop mostly while sitting in a recliner with a small dog on my lap. I needed something that could hold either device. I researched A LOT of these kind of gadgets on Amazon and finally chose this one. I was hesitant to buy anything because I am close to being the stupidest person on earth when it comes to putting things together. I assembled this thing in about an hour and 10 minutes. If you have any kind of mechanical ability it would probably take half that time. I can adjust the height of the arm, swivel the tray over my recliner, and adjust the tilt. The tray is presently holding my iPad as I type this. I think I will have to adjust the height of the arm depending on whether I’m using the iPad or my laptop. But that’s no big deal. You adjust the height with the supplied Allen wrench. There’s even a place to store the Allen wrenches. I can swivel the tray out of my way when I want to get up. It so happens I have this in my living room — no, it’s not the most attractive thing — but if I have company I think I can just unclamp it from the side table and store it in another room. I am greatly looking forward to not having the neck pain and headaches I get from straining my neck over my electronic devices. I am very happy with this purchase so far.
