These beehives are very sturdy.It comes in a box disassembled but it's not hard to put it together...just takes a bit of time since you have to assemble all the frames as well as the main structure.Comes with a plastic queen excluder, a bottom brood box, 2 honey boxes, a roof, and an entrance limiter.Highly coated in wax so you don't have to paint or stain it.Looks really good.I built 2 of these. It did take a good few hours but that's because you have to assemble each frame with glue and nails but everything fits perfectly once you get it assembled.Update: I bought a third one of these and parts of it split while I was assembling it. Didn't have this issue with the first two. I contacted the seller and they sent replacements (and more!) The very next day without any fuss or hassle at all!I'll definitely be buying my bee supplies from these guys exclusively from now on!Edit on 4-17-22: ok.... after buying more from a different company, all I'm gonna say is that I wish I had just gone ahead and paid the extra bit of money and got the hives from these guys.

This hive box requires assembly. I'd recommend a brad nailer instead of the small nails provided to minimize the splitting of the wood pieces particularly with the thinner frames. Also, it speeds the assembly part up. The kit is well-manufactured. I wanted to transfer a feral colony that moved into my yard into a new hive box and the BeeCastle was perfect. The next step is to replace the Africanized queen with a European queen once they settle into their new hive home.

I received this shipment about 2 day's early. The packaging was well done and contents organized making examination simple and assembly quick. Of course I added glue to every joint which was not really necessary. The wax buildup in the dovetails made it hard to join the pieces but I used my heat gun for just a few seconds and they slid together in an almost prefect corner. I did end up splitting one piece at the top edge as I put in the screw. I avoided that on all the others by hand tightening the screw for the final few turns. I did notice a few nails that were bent but there were extra so no problem. Love the quality and look of these hives. I would advise anyone to purchase these products. Top quality and they look fantastic.

By far the best Beehive of the 3 that I purchased this year. This one had no missing parts and all in excellent shape. The assembly was actually fun and they provided screws for the boxes. I really appreciate the wax coating. All Frames fit into boxes without having to be cut off approximately a 1/4 inch like another hive. No splitting of wood when assembling hive boxes. Highly recommend.

The hive arrived as promised and was simple to assemble; however, I would recommend using a Brad nailer with 3/4 inch brads instead of the nails provided. I attempted to use the nails but split about every 3rd piece of wood even with a lightweight hammer. The brad nailer never split any of the wood. The only issue I had was it was one large panel short but contacted customer service and had a response in 24 hours. They sent two panels to replace the missing one. Would give 5 stars but the missing panel delayed transferring a hive.

Excellent customer service from company. Good quality and screw holes match up. After putting it together, I had to tear it down to use glue and then rescued. Held up very well

The quality was more than I hoped for. It was fun and easy to assemble. The wood is beautiful. Everything but glue was included to assemble the hive body. The dovetail joints fit like a glove. This is all exceptional considering the price. I don't plan on ever ordering another pine hive body.

I usually buy one of the name brand Bee boxes so I took a chance on this one.I am very glad I did. I am so happy with this. It was extremely easy to put together and the quality is very very nice. All the parts actually fit together without a bunch of fuss. It is coated which is very nice to make it waterproof.I was going to do a walk away split with my current Hive into this one but two days after I put this together I looked out and there was a swarm in the tree right outside my porch. How lucky is that! I grabbed that swarm and put it in this new box and they are doing great. I think if you buy this you will be very happy.
