Functional and cool
I wear them while riding my motorcycle. I ride a cool looking V-Twin Cruiser, wear a half helmet and these glasses. They look way more solid then all the cheap ones I got before but I read a lot of bad reviews about their durability. So far so good.Visibility through the glass is great.I would personally prefer normal temples though, I don't need these grips because of the way I use it, with a motorcycle half helmet.A bit heavy.

Loved
Loved the product. Allot better then I thought they would be. Would definitely recommend. Super comfortable, the thing that wraps around your ear feel so comfortable they are made of rubber and something else but you can bend and adjust as needed. Super cool

The real deal, but maybe not rugged enough
I bought these glacier glasses for a trip to Rianier last year. I didn't know how much I would need them, but I lived in them about 12 hours a day while I was on the mountain (Summit Attempt). The glasses are completely necessary! And they did a great job protecting my eyes from the ultrabright sunlight experienced around snow and ice. Had I known how impossible it would be to function without them for even an hour or 2 I would have bought a much more sturdy pair of glasses!!! I thought that it would be a cool looking pair of very dark shades I would need at times, but in reality my life depended upon them functioning well. Julbo is a great company, and their more modern glasses should be considered if you are depending upon them for your safety. These retro pairs did NOT break on me, but I'm going to Rainier again this summer and I have to be honest, I'm afraid to take such a fragile pair of glasses when I know I'll be slamming my face into the snow pack to practice arrests for my rope team on day one. What will you do if your glasses break at 10 am on summit day at 12,000 ft? Think about it.Wanna look cool and your buying these are regular sunglasses? Go ahead, they will work well and you'll love them.

Crystal clear, excellent vision, sturdy, old school retro cool.
Okay, I wear a 7 3/8 hat so the temples were tight, I've bent them out a bit and it's better. The ends of the temples where they wrap about the ear dig in at the end, so I bent them back a little and they're more comfortable now.The ones I had back in the early 80s before "steam punk" was a thing were gradient top and bottom to middle, meaning basically as dark as these are in the middle but darker towards the bright sky, and also towards the bright snow covered ground.Which I never went to, but they were still cool as heck.Unless you have to remove the side blinders, don't. It's a feat to get them and the lens in the exact right place and keep them there while reaching for a screwdriver! It can be done, but do not do it in front of children, nuns, the Pope, or your first grade teacher.5 stars overall because they're excellent, 4 stars for comfort out of the box, but they are easily adjusted for cranial aberrations (big headed folks), 5 stars for value for the money, and I didn't put any starts for durability because I've only had them a day.But they are well made and sturdy. I think they will be just fine.

Great for glaciers
Tl;dr if you are actually going to use these where they were designed to be used, buy them. If you want them for style only, read my dislikes.Like: exactly as described. Super dark. Great for snow glare. Side light blocking works as intended. Looks fantastic. Huge attention grabber and icebreaker in Starbucks haha. They fit fine and I have a wide head. The ear loops work well when you're running/jumping about.Dislike: every day wear is not too great if you keep the leather on. Does not fit while wearing a full faced helmet. I would never wear these while driving with the side shades on due to restricted vision. Also, walking down the sidewalk I have to take extra time to look for traffic because of this restricted vision. Also, walking around Los Angeles at sunset I can't see if anybody is approaching from the sides. Lessens awareness overall. Did not include a hard case for storage, just a soft sock.

It doesn't feel high quality
It arrived inside an envelope as I opened I found the box to be flattened as if someone stepped on it. The sunglass was intact though. The pouch is made of cheap quality cloth, it feels like a some third party made it in a rush. As for the sunglass, it looks good at a glance, but is not comfortable but that's expected. I purchased for the esthetic and vintage look, only time will tell of its durability. I intent to use for hiking, going to white sandy beach and in few years when I hike the Everest Basecamp.

Price
The price is way too high. But they’re nice glasses. I wouldn’t mind paying $50. But 150 is quite ridiculous for them.

Use for Driving ? YES
Awesome sunglasses. Great value for the money. They look cool, fit great, and are comfortable. Easily worn with a baseball cap with a curved bill. I drive for a living and use them on super sunny clear days for rural and freeway driving. They might be a bit overkill for crowded city driving with tall buildings all around. The side shields don't block your peripheral vision as drastically as you would think. The side shields have vent holes in them making it pretty easy to detect movement in your peripheral vision area. Contrary to another review ... the shields are removable. To remove the side shields all you have to do is loosen up the screws that hold the lenses in place, and they will slide out. My only complaint is that Julbo does not offer alti arc 4+ mineral lenses as an option. They did a small run of "Vermont Mythics" with those lenses in 2013. I have a pair of Mythics, they are a bit heavier than the polycarbonate ones .... but the vision is a touch more crisp and clear. A removable leather nose shield would be the icing on the cake for these sunglasses.
