Q: Has anyone used this to do a few highlights?

This "medium blond" is not blond at all. It dyed my blond highlight dark brown.

Q: Do the numbers correspond to the numbers (levels) of professional brands? My stylist uses a level 6 on my brown hair.

Not sure but will say that this is the best roots dye I have ever purchased and I have purchased many. The color is so pure.
