Do I need two of these, or will one suffice?

It depends on the door. Our larger pantry doors have two, whereas our smaller, regular-size doors have only one.

Do these only work on Blum hinges? My hinges have the square hole.

I have no idea about other hinge companies. My guess would be no, since they are very particular. I could not get them to work with some of the older blum hinges i have that use square holes.

They work very well but have to fit properly. The holes in my hinges are rectangular. If the holes are more rounded they won't fit. You say they are square so I don't think they will fit if they are indeed square.
