The instructions are a bit hard to understand and it leaves out some important details like how the clamps need to be loosed before installation. When I was installing my set, the clamps were loose out of the box, but they wouldn’t fit on my SUV. It took me over an hour of fiddling before I realized that they could be loosened more. After that, it takes some trial and error to get them to sit completely perfect on the roof. That wasn’t as frustrating, but you have to be extra careful. However once they’re on, they’re great. I’ve put 1,500 miles on them with a full carrier box on top, and no issues. Sturdy and drama-free.

First things first - The actual assembly of the foot camp pack is rather straight forward (push until you hear the snap!)... But attaching the adapter kit isn't quite as idiot-proof... It's difficult to know when the adapter is fully seated onto the foot. And when it is installed the "cover" doesn't fully cover the ugly internals...Giving it four stars because it's a four-star product compared to what else is out there on the market, but there is room for improvement!
