Q: are they sterile if not individually packed?

There are 2 sterile swabs in each little sealed pack, with many sealed packs per box. Both swabs are sterile upon opening the sealed pack. But if you only use 1 swab then wait to use the 2nd, I'd assume the 2nd swab wouldn't remain sterile if it sits exposed in the opened pack.
