Q: Does this support 3.5" sas drives? please don't answer unless you know the difference between sas and sata.

Though the Amazon Title says it supports SAS drives, if you go to the Kingwin website for the KF-255-BK, it says nothing about SAS, nor does the owner's manual pdf that I downloaded. I'd say it does not support the SAS connector configuration. http://www.kingwin.com/kf-255-bk-2/

Q: Can 2.5" SSD be used with this mount?

Alone, No. Yes - With the addition of this Device: ICY DOCK EZConvert PRO MB982SP-1S Enterprise 2.5" to 3.5" SATA SSD & HDD Converter / Mounting Kit. This is what we use. Hope this helps!

Q: 2 HD sata cables. 2 power sata cables??? or just one?

2 SATA cable. 1 SATA power cable. Be aware that the triangular key entry on the locking mechanism for the the 3-1/2" drive door is made of extremely soft pot metal and after a number of locking and unlocking cycles while changing drives in and out has deformed to the point where it's unusable even though I used extreme care once I discovered this problem it just continued to get worse, so now I have to leave it unlocked. The same key entry on the 2-1/2" drive door is made of stainless steel and does not suffer from the same weakness.This is a pretty serious defect in an otherwise very good product, and if there was something like this made by a competitor that didn't suffer from this weakness, I would try that by so far I haven't been able to find anything like it. I hope KingWin will correct this deficiency in future models.
