Excellent, portable USB controller
The Numark DJ2GO2 Touch is an excellent, compact USB controller. I can't speak about how useful it is as a "proper" DJ as I only ever use it for parties. However, for that, it's absolutely perfect. Loads of fun to use/practice with, with all the features you absolutely *need*. Used it with Serato Light, Mixxx, and Djay Pro and it's good with all. I suspect it'd work well with Ableton, but haven't tried it yet.If I were picking one, I'd say I prefer either Djay Pro (if you need to stream) or Mixxx (if you don't). Both do automatic volume alignment, so you can map the "Level" knob on either deck to Filter and use it for some basic EQing. Nothing crazy, but it does allow you to be a little more versatile. I'd map the "auto" loop triggers to do manual loop in-out / autoloop 1 bar / autoloop 2 bars / autoloop 4 bars, which frees up 4 extra buttons per deck with no real loss of function (for me anyway - my ).Anyway - that's my suggestion. Great controller regardless of what you use it with, but I'd suggest you try out a few bits of software and find what works for you rather than just sticking to Serato Light.

Would be superb if it had low latency (ASIO) audio, without it's a bit of a toy.
I've been DJing for 25 years now, occasionally professionally but now largely as a hobby, and took quite a long time before deciding to pick this unit up.I started out on CDs which were themselves hugely lighter to transport than vinyl and turntables and over the years have loved the way that the kit which is needed to rock a party has become smaller and lighter and so easier to setup and transport! This is arguably the most extreme end of that trend, as this controller (plus a laptop or potentially even a phone) can rock a party while fitting in a small corner of a rucksack, leaving plenty of room for whatever else you need to carry - you could even take it on your bike and forget you are carrying it.So in short the form factor is great, and the controls are plenty for simple mixes - much better than trying to mix with mouse and keyboard! What isn't so great, and came as something of a shock is the latency on the inbuilt soundcard - there are no ASIO drivers, and despite my fiddling I simply couldn't get the latency very low - there is a noticeable lag between pressing the buttons/touching the jog wheel and this taking effect on the audio. This is a real shame. Obviously a unit this small is going to have a lot of compromises in terms of jog wheel size, number of buttons, faders etc, but it doesn't really need to compromise on the latency of the audio - if they had just invested a bit more time and money getting the driver up to snuff or using a slightly different audio chip then I could wholeheartedly recommend the unit.So all told, I can recommend this unit as a backup control surface, or for someone that must travel light/compact, but if you are a beginner starting out you are much better spending a bit more for something with a more complete set of controls and good latency.

Best value for money controller on the market!!
For the money, this is a truly awesome controller!!! I was amazed by the stuff its capable of pulling off!!! Scratching, pitch bending, multi cues, sound effects...... well worth it!! Serato is a free software anyway, which I had downloaded and played with prior to owning this item, but a dj2go2 really makes serato alot more fun!!!

Update: Other reviewers had same problem - Let down by audio out...
Numark DJ2GO2 TouchLet down by terrible audio out... Purchased as I have had experience of an earlier version of this product and the fact that this new version has inbuilt audio out really got my attention. However, regardless of which laptop, I tried (both win10 machines) there was an intermittent clicking sound that could be heard over the music. Rendering the audio out stage to be useless, the guys at Numark tried to be helpful bu to no avail.I followed there instructions over the phone and by email to no luck (and I do know my around a computer).Got to the point where they even wanted remote access to my computers. At this point I decided to call it quits, however because of the style and functionality of Numark DJ2GO2 Touch I decided to keep it.And then spent another £20.00 on the (Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222USB Audio Interface) Which works straight out of the box NUMARK! On both my laptops. The DJ2GO control unit offers all the realistic functionality most on the road dj's would require.Would I recommend it?(1) If you already have a usb audio interface that works so you can by pass the Numark's audio output stage, then Maybe.(2) If you are prepared to spend the extra £20 and add on the Behringer U-CONTROL and have another piece of kit to contend with? Maybe(3) Be like me, take route 2 knowing it will now work. But be prepared to have a bad taste in you mouth knowing that you've had to spend the extra money to make the DJ2GO work. When in reality it should have worked out of the box, But in my case didn't!NumarkLet's get it straight! It's not about the money, (although that is a factor, for many especially the youngsters this product is aimed at.) It's about theft! Theft of the most valuable commodity most of us have OUR TIME.The TIME spent online and on the phone, trying to make something work, that should have just worked straight out of the box.
