This Shampoo Works Great!
Great Shampoo! It definitely tones down any brassiness. I was using Matrix purple conditioner and thought that did a good job. The L’Oréal Elvive shampoo does an even better job in my opinion. The scent is pretty good too.

My holy grail!
I have platinum icy white hair and this is my holy grill of purple shampoo when I want my hair a little more on the icy silvery side! I tried the purple shampoo that everyone always raves about not too long ago and all it did was stain my hair purple and it’s the worst purple shampoo I’ve ever used! That’s what I get for cheating on my perfect bottle 😩 it smells amazing and will tone your hair to perfection! Buy it!!

Seems to work
It didn't stain my hair purple. It didn't dry my hair out. It DID tone down the slight orange tones, just as it was meant to do. I have long, thick, colored hair. Natural is currently dark blonde with greys. ugh. I color my hair to a lighter blonde and try and cover greys, which I always seem to still have after coloring. My hair picks up the orange, brassy tones. After using in one shower, shampoo'd twice and left on for 5-7 minutes the first lather, I did notice less brassiness, but I noticed my greys were shining brighter. I used a second time a week later, lathering once and leaving on about 5 minutes, I didn't really notice anything. When I color, I only do root area as my hair lightens right up as it get longer, I only used this shampoo on the top and close to roots, I did not lather it through all my hair. But like I said, after the first use, it did tone down the brassiness. I would buy again.

Not the Best
I bought this because it seemed like a great value for purple shampoo. The bottle ended up being smaller than expected initially. I used this on dry hair to tone it; I used about 1/3 of the bottle on my head and let it sit for an hour. The formula was thick and dark and a little went a long way. It was still pretty liquidy and got everywhere but thankfully did not stain any surfaces in my bathroom. When I washed it off it left my hair feeling incredibly dry and brittle, even as it was under running water. I followed up with my regular shampoo and conditioner to replenish the moisture in my hair. I was not impressed with the toning abilities. Some of my light blonde highlights seemed toned a nice white blonde but the majority of my dark blonde hair showed no change. I will probably now go use a regular toner and just use this shampoo to keep up with it.

Not just for blonds
I'm not all grey - from a distance I'm still a brunette. Up close, I'm still mostly dark. However, more recently I've noticed a brownish orangey kind of shade to my hair. I use this about twice a week and my silver stands out and the brown appears darker, almost black. In addition, it gives my hair a little body - more than it had anyway. The scent is almost not noticeable.
