Just got a new one of these using my FSA funds to replace our old one. We had the older model of this and it worked great for about 4 years and then started reading inaccurately low. I was happy enough with the accuracy and longevity that I bought it again.

I was tired of waking my children up when they were sick to take their temperature. This thermometer allows me to turn it on, place it on their forehead and take their temperature in a matter of seconds without disturbing their sleep.The digital face lights up so you can easily read the results even in the dark.The thermometer shows the actual temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius depending on your preference. Along with the actual reading the thermometer glows yellow for a mild temperature and red for a high fever.The fact that you put it on their forehead and not in their mouth allows you to take several family members temperatures without the fear of spreading the germs.The price is fair for the product.I have not had to change batteries since we have owned it.I like this product and would purchase it again.

Every home needs one. Easy, reliable, non-invasive, quick, and I assume accurate. Love the color coding; green = no fever, yellow = low fever, red = fever. Can take a child’s temp in the dark, without waking them.

I purchased four thermometers to try out. I figured this one being +$40 it would be highly accurate. I was wrong. I took my temperature three times with each thermometer over the course of an hour. Of the four thermometers that I purchased three of them showed my temperature to be 97.3 to 97.4 every time (this is normal for me). The Braun thermometer, however, showed my temperature being anywhere between 94.0 and 96.2 wildly off from the other three that I purchased and from its own readings. The indicator light only lights up for about a half a second so you will likely miss the green, yellow, or red. It is a useless feature, since it doesn’t stay lit with color. Of the four devices, the Braun was the only one that required that the unit be pressed firmly against the forehead, not AWAY from the forehead, AGAINST the forehead which means it has to be cleaned after each use. The three thermometers I purchased that show accurate readings were each under $20, and one even came with its own carrying case to keep it from getting dusty. Unfortunately, this expensive unit is non refundable. In short, this unit is inaccurate, higher maintenance than the other thermometers I purchased, lighting to read result is useless, and wildly expensive, with no return/refund.

This is a pretty good quality device. Very easy and clear to read. I think it's accurate but it does seem somewhat sensitive to ambient temperatures, so be sure to allow it to adjust to the temperature of the room before using (like all forehead thermometers).

It lasted one year and now it doesn’t work… it just says “error”. It didn’t seem to be very accurate even before now though; I ended up taking three temperature measurements and averaging them because they would be different each time. For example: 100*F, 101.2*F, 100.6*F.
