No, it certainly would not hold a Kindle. I can close it with my car/house keys, my passport, my billfold and my Droid Razr cell phone inside, and maybe a couple of Krugerrands; that's about all. I just made some detailed measurements, and here's what I found:Height (maximum) 1.5", (minimum)1.0"Width at maximum height, 2.75"; at 1.0" height, 3.25""The ends are round and semi-circular; it could hold a narrow object 8.5" long, but the largest rectangular object would be about 6" long, 3" high, and 1" deep - roughly the size of a personal checkbook. I know this is a lot of answer. I hope it helps you, and anyone else who needs to know its inside dimensions.

Q: Is the interior deep enough for 2 or 3 regular size prescription pill bottles?

I just went and tried my prescription bottle in it and it fit. My bottle is about 1.5-2 inches around and about 4 inches tall. You could fit about 4 of them in there. I hope this helps.

Q: This is only waterproof, not fireproof or resistant?

No small case like this, made out of anything, is fire resistant. small boxes have too little thermal inertia ie too much thermal transmission to be rated as fire proof or fire resistance. Anyone saying anything this size is fireproof is lying.
