The Pump is Sensitive
I’ve been using the Rite Aid Antiseptic Skin Cleanser with Chlorhexidine Gluconate as a more affordable alternative to Hibiclens, and it works just as well for my needs. It’s effective for skin prep, body acne, and general antibacterial cleansing—especially useful after the gym or for areas prone to irritation. The 4% chlorhexidine content is strong enough to reduce bacteria without causing stinging or dryness, which I’ve experienced with harsher antiseptics. It has no noticeable scent, which I appreciate, and it rinses clean without leaving residue. The consistency is easy to work with—thin but not watery—and the bottle size offers great value for the price. I also like that it doesn’t contain unnecessary fragrances or dyes, making it safer for sensitive skin. If you’re looking for a reliable antiseptic cleanser for everyday hygiene, wound care, or preventative skin care, this is a solid choice. Just be sure to avoid using it near ears, eyes, or open mucous membranes as instructed.

Fantastic antiseptic - where can we buy?
love the powdery smell, and the microbial effect of the soap. I shower with it 1-2 times a week, the rest of the time with gentle soap. I find that rinsing with cool (not hot) water in the shower prevents irritation from this strong anti-microbial. Well wrapped by shipper and no leaks.

Sores
My niece, who is an RN recommended this for me. Only took a few showers and the rash/bumps were started to diminish. I wasn't sure what the bumps/rash/sores were from, but this worked great. I'm hoping it works on mosquito bites, will let you know!

Great product, use caution!
Edit: This is a topical drug. Please read the label. Much of what follows here can be found there.Chlorhexadine 4% is very effective. I used it on my scalp to treat an acquired condition. My scalp would get greasy and flaky. I suspected my issue was caused by bacteria because it also had a slight unpleasant odor.I wouldn't recommend washing the whole body with this. It could cause vulnerabilities in your skin's microbiota. When applied, almost all bacteria is killed locally. This causes the energy sources these microbes used to become more available, thus harmful microbes may be acquired after the chlorhexadine is no longer active. This situation basically turns your skin into a sterile media ready for inoculation. Skin health should focus on maintaining a healthy microbiota, not sterility.Exercise caution! The active ingredient can also cause permanent damage to the meninges. Contact should be avoided with the eyes and middle ear. If you have a ruptured eardrum, getting this inside your ear canal could turn your reduced hearing into full deafness. Do not apply this to injuries exposing your brain or spinal cord.As a side note, this stuff is most effective against gram-negative bacteria. At lower concentration, it will probably reduce competition to fungi (mold and yeast), enabling it to grow impeded only by the availability of resources (glucose, cellulose, etc.).As always, do your own due diligence with everything.

Good second choice.
This is a good antiseptic skin cleaner, as a substitute for my favorite brand which was not available at time of purchase.
