SKS Schutzblech-Streben (Set) // for Velo 42 Urban

Needed this for my Velo 47 fender and it fits well. Well made and looks nice.Used it on my Specialized Crosstrail bike and everything bolts up nicely. You can adjust it so your fender fits perfectly over the tire.On my bike there is no place to bolt it to the front fender but I don't think I need one there.Had it for a month now and still working well.

These are an absolute must for the Velo fenders. I have no idea how you would use the fenders without them. The front fender does not properly mouth to the fork of a GT Transeo without the use a small L-bracket. Though pictured in the instructions, it is not included with the kit. The rear fender mounted with an issue.

I bought a used bike that had SKS Velo 42 fenders installed but without the stays. These were easy to add to the existing fenders and I had no problem adjusting them. This was on a 28" wheel with standard brakes. One thing that could be improved--the stays are different lengths and there's nothing in the instructions about which is which. Luckily someone else had asked here so I could find out that the longer stay is for the back wheel.

Very solid! Works just fine with disk brakes WITH a quick trip to the nut and bolt store. On the disk side the U stay is pushed out by the brake so to fix the problem just add a longer screw with two nuts on the screw. Take your longer screw, put on the black plastic adapter, then add a lock nut and screw it to the adapter leaving it a little loose, then add another lock nut threaded up the screw enough to have room to screw the bolt into the eyelet, then screw your bolt into the eyelet and attach per the included instructions and tighten everything up. I attached a picture from the bottom side after attached.

This review is more about the fenders than the stay kit. These fenders are amazing. Excellent quality and installation is a breeze if you're mechanically inclined. I would have given 5 stars but they did not come with the required stays that must be purchased separately. These fenders are useless without the stays I would have given 2 stars but as I mentioned, the quality is amazing. Best fenders I've ever owned.

If you are not a handy person, skip this. Depending on your bike, these will require some effort and some questionable engineering to make them work.

Without these products the fenders I bought did not look particularly stable and I was concerned they would move around and rub while I was riding. With these stays everything stays in place.

They work. Easy enough installation. Wrecked my bike and instead of breaking or bending they just popped out of the lil holders and I'm able to just push them back in and retighten.
