Works great.
I was struggling to find the best way to connect my beefy gaming laptop to my nice new monitor I got without losing any performance since my laptop does not have a DisplayPort port. I tried some other type C to DP cables but ultimately concluded that for top performance - USB-C to DP adapter (this product) -> standard DP cable. I'm getting full spec with ease. This is a solid brand that's been around awhile and I'm happy with this adapter.

Works Flawlessly!
Works flawlessly to drive an old 30" 2560x1600 dual link DVI only monitor by connecting this to a USBC only laptop and using a DP to mini DP cable with the old Apple mini DP to DVI adapter.

Apple Cinema HD 30 is finally working with my Macbook Pro M3!
The Apple Cinema HD 30 is finally working with my Macbook Pro M3! I thought it would be impossible after trying so many different adapters with no success. I could not get HDMI to work with this monitor, so I gave up on that.If you have an old Cinema HD 30 (CCFL), it should work with these exact parts:-Apple Dual-Link DVI to Mini DisplayPort adapter (requires USB A connection)-CableMatters Mini DisplayPort (female) to DisplayPort (male) short cable-CableMatters DisplayPort (female) to USB CThis USB C adapter is plug and play, no need for drivers on MacOS.Video signal looks great at max resolution: 2560 x 1600, 60hz. Tested with 4k videos.I could not get it to work with my Android phone.

Works fine, on some systems. Did not work on my MacBook Pro
I bought this for use with a gaming laptop. I have a 3440x1440@144hz display, and the HDMI 2.0 port on my laptop would not allow for the full 144hz refresh rate. So I bought this and it worked perfectly on my gaming laptop. (2021 Asus G513-ES96) The type-c port on my laptop is display port capable.I bought another one for my M1 Mac Mini and it also worked fine on the type-c port. However, for some reason it would not work on either of the two MacBook Pros that I have. Both are 2019 16" models with the radeon pro 5500m. When the adapter is connected to the MacBook Pro, the laptop screen will go black for a second and then come back on, but the external monitor does not register any input. The description for the product listing states that it works with MacBook Pro, but I was not able to get it to do so. Wasn't a big deal for me because I bought it for the gaming laptop and the M1 Mac mini.

Works great with 6000 series AMD GPU
I've got this dongle going from my USB-C video out on my Radeon RX 6950 XT to a 15ft Displayport cable and then in to my LG 38" ultrawide monitor. At 3840 x 1600 160hz, this adapter has been flawless. I ran out of Displayport outs on the video card connecting other monitors and a VR headset. This is a great solution that makes use of that USB-C out and an extra Displayport cable I had laying around. Can totally recommend this one.

Finally a suitable dongle! Runs Valve Index on any refresh rate.
I've got an Asus GX502GW laptop with rtx2070 gpu and after I received the Valve Index headset I was struggling to find a correct dongle for a DP output. The main issue is that there's no thunderbolt in it whereas most of the dongles are meant to be used with a thunderbolt port and even if they claimed they supported DP Alt mode they didn't work. There's only HDMI and usb-c DP Alt mode outputs in my laptop (it seems that the usb-c port is just a virtual link port, but I'm not sure) Can confirm that this dongle runs Valve Index through DP alt mode output with no issues at all. No image artifacts, no limits. Works well on any refresh rate set (80/90/120/144hz) looks well-build and overall is a great deal for the money. It does run hot (I'd say around 110-120°F) and I've been using it for only a couple of days and some people said it fails eventually but time will tell. Make sure that your usb-c output has a DP logo nearby and it is connected to the gpu if you're in the same situation. Anyways it completely worth the value. Highly recommended.

Does Not Work With Oculus Rift S
Upon receiving this, I had hope I’d be able to use this product with my Oculus Rift S on my laptop, which does not have any DisplayPort plug ins. I had one USB C port available on my laptop so I thought, while reading the description on the product, that it would work. Knowing it’d be compatible with my devices, I thought it’d be no problem, unfortunately, I was mistaken. When plugging in, I immediately found out it was incompatible and kept getting errors stating “Unknown USB Device”, “Port Reset Failed.” I didn’t understand why so I followed hundreds of steps online and figured maybe it was my drivers, even downloaded a driver booster, and had no luck. I’m certain my graphics drivers are updated I had even looked online for that too, yet nothing seemed to pop up and I was still stuck trying technique after technique to try to get this to work. Spending hours on hours of my time doing this, it turned out terrible, and I feel ultimately defeated. I had no clue how to get this to work with my VR. All in all, not such a great experience, I regret this.

Works great for VR, not for 4k 144hz monitor
I originally bought this adapter for my Valve Index because I didn't have a DisplayPort on my laptop. It worked great for that, I had no issues.Later, I bought a new monitor that was 4k 144hz and while I could connect using this adapter and see video fine, the connection would drop every 30 seconds or so and the monitor would restart. I spent $30 and waited ~10 days to get the monitor repaired only for them to say there was no issue and give me an HDMI cable that works better. The product label says 4k@144hz but my experience is this is false.
