Why doesn't the seller specify the screen resolution? How can anyone buy this without that information?

This one may have a 1600x900 pixel screen, but Lenovo made the T450 with many different screen resolutions. If the seller doesn't state the resolution, you should assume it's the lowest available, as is the case with this one.

No, unfortunately it does not. A mini display adapter to hdmi cable can be purchased for about $7.00 and it can connect to hdmi devices. Hope that helps!
