Nifty Useful Knife
I lost my veteran old Champion knife the other day and as I check around for something to replace it, I found this. It is the model s557 which has the pliers and the inline Phillips screwdriver. It is a slightly smaller knife in length with crafted scales on it to conform to your hands. It is made by Victorinox with some of the components of Wenger. The knife has a fixed main blade which is a few millimeters shorter than the standard blade in the Champion. It has a slightly smaller pair of scissors which have a spring loaded metal support to hold them open. Much better than the spring. Two things I don't like about the scissors is that they have a restrictor to keep em from opening too far. and they are sort of sarrated so you aren't going to sharpen them easily. The pliers are held open by the same ridged mechanism. They have two fulcrum points. One to close them completely. One to cock them open for small nuts etc. I don't see a really practical reason for this, they are so small. I used to use pliers as super tweezers and the ones in the Champion were micro-speck. You could pull a leg off a fly with them or a splinter out of your palm.. With the ones on the Evolution -- don't think so- not so exact. Now this knife has a locking blade. I like that. The lock mechanism in my opinion was way to hulking big. So I filed it down some. It is also not in the way and now does not even get caught in my pocket seam when I retrieve it. All the other blades are the same as on the Champion. All and all I like the knife. The slightly smaller size is okay. The tool is pretty well thought out. I still might go the extra 24 bucks and get an other Champion but I like this. Guess I have to keep it now that I filled on it.Edit on 6/28/2018: I have to ad this to the review. After trying to use this knife for a while I have found it's scissors to be absolutely worthless they don't open up enough to work with. I went ahead and bought a Swiss Champion to replace it.

Primarily a Victorinox collector, but first SAK was Wenger.
A few reviews on here made me nervous about shipping issues with this thing. Even the sale price of it justifies worry about said issues. Well, I've received the item today and It came in the iconic gray Victorinox box in pristine, new condition without a scratch. The tools are all crisp, snapping into place smoothly and it's a pleasure to look at. I was also worried about the locking button sticking out a bit too far, but I wear a sweatpants that has a pocket within a pocket where I love to keep my EDCs and so far, this thing has not been a nuisance, catching on anything. I've yet to try it with a pair of jeans though, with that change pocket being my favorit place to keep EDCs on that type of pants. As a collector, overall, I am very satified with this knife and love those scales. As others have expressed concern about those too, I was a bit worried about how it would feel in regards to feel of the grips in the hand. But it's perfect for me, however that may be due to my physique (I'm a bit on the skinny side). As someone who's first Swiss Army Knife was a Wenger Handyman, I'd like to thank Victorinox for keeping it alive in some fashion. I was thinking of using this as my new primary EDC and I will, almost ready to retire my Explorer (one of my favorite models I was going to retire when the S557 came in), but after some thinking, I just might carry both whenever possible because the Explorer has served me well and I think I'd miss it too much.

The BEST of BOTH in ONE!
This is a wonderful pocket knife & just "right!" Combining the best of both Swiss Army Worlds - Wengers sleeker, contoured body, a locking blade (& locking screw drivers), smarter designed scissors and pliers (solid spring that will last for years vs. "wire spring") and the nut wrench with the Victorinox features of superior quality, a can opener that is cutting forward (not dragging backwards) and now a hole in the punch (for sewing) and more easy to extract tweezers and toothpick. Although it is taking (at all new) some nail power to retrieve the Phillips screw driver, this is probably the best universal pocket knife around! The Evolution covers most of what my Cybertool Lite can do (and somewhat better) in a smaller package and at 1/2 the price! The tools feel very solid and - really - how often do you need hex sockets when you are not an IT guy or a small magnifying glass or a (kind a weak) LED flashlight? Highly recommended!

MacGyver would be jealous
This is the most useful multi tool knife ever. Despite earlier reviews, this knifes quality is subpar to your average knife. I am very pleased with everything this product can do. The knife size is perfect and not too wide. The pliers come in very handy for everyday fixes. The locking knife blade is very well designed and very sturdy. The blade comes super razor sharp. The serrated scissors are great for cutting, especially finger nails. The file is great and very useful. The wrench is a bit small but it is still very useful and the pliers can do the job. The philips head screw driver is very useful but is hard to open. All in all this is the most wonderful multi tool knife on the market. Highly recommended!
